Okay, what remakes of horror films have been good or better then the old?

What new releases are you going to see or have watched?

What old horrors do you like that aren't the usual classics?

What upcoming horror films have you heard about?

I did like the Friday 13th re-make because i just did not like a lot of them, i even like Freddy Vs Jason...Childs Play i am not even going to entertain the new one and i could not stand the new IT.

I am going to see The Curse of La Llorna (actually tonight) and i recently saw US whiched i liked as it was different.

I loved wax works growing up, dolly dearest, demonic toys, all those old sort of ones.

I have heard Halloween 2 is coming out, Orphan 2, Scream 5 and lights out 2.

Most remakes end up being a worse version of the original.

Even if it wasn't a good movie I enjoyed the Friday the 13th remake, I loved the fast, smart Jason. In my opinion he was scarier in that movie, but the survivors were just bland, as in many horror movies.

I also liked the Evil Dead remake, but that's because me and my friends were joking about it the whole time, if I was alone I would have probably enjoyed it less.

And The Curse of La Llorona is just a jumpscare-fest. It just counts on people who know about the legend to go see it.

Everything Jordan Peele touches is fantastic. The Visit was creepy, Get Out was phenomenal, I saw Us recently which was really good and I'm excited to see Ma this month too. I also watched Hereditary recently and it was shockingly good albeit deeply upsetting even by horror standards. One of the few horror movies where a scene just really stuck with me

The Tony Todd version of Night of the Living Dead and Jeff Goldblum's The Fly were much better than the black and white originals.

House of Wax was a good remake movie but I'm not sure if I even saw the original.
