Basement chest should be more of a risk to search.
Maybe have the search time longer in return for a guarantee d add on with your item. Ace in the hole will still give you an add on but the chance of good rarity on the second add on is better.
I would love to see the basement chest with a really demonic design to it.

It would be kind of cool if the survivor’s aura showed for the duration of opening. Like that way it’s risky. Maybe then the basement can guarantee a non brown item.

I've always felt the basement should have a built in Territorial Imperative. If not the notification, at least the aura. Make the basement somewhere you don't want to go instead of it being safe(it's dangerous if someone is hooked cause the killer has reason to go in there. Otherwise it safe cause the killer never goes down there). Make the basement dangerous and make the chest worth it

So many killers would exploit that. Wait for the notification and bam... another one down in the basement.

You would get killers waiting for a save and then going straight after them especially with nurse and faster killers..
Territorial imperative would make a great passive perk on leather face

No one runs the perk as is because it's weak. Weakening it slightly and making it base kit would hardly make it OP

Nah, I don't think basement needs to be more dangerous tbh. Being caught+hooked in the basement is already a big punishment, and if a survivor is all the way down there they're not doing anything useful to begin with.
Besides, other than the cheeky Dull/Skeleton key, nothing you find in chests is that gamechanging. I already think plundering is a bit niche and not that impactful, it doesn't need to be riskier in general.

On almost every killer in the game it's not worth the perk slot. Unless you're doing a very particular gimmick build, you're rarely going to get much value out of it.

Bad idea. NOBODY would go for the basement chest. Might as well just delete it from the game.

It should be a special chest which does something different and fancy.

It already has the distinction of being the only consistent chest location on every map. Honestly making it fancy seems unnecessary and I'd rather see the devs work more on things with more relevancy

I already recommended making the basement more dangerous. Frankly I think the Chest system could use a rework overall though. It's just not worth opening them in general currently. Even with good loot, still not really worth the effort
