Dead By Daylight has come a long way don't you think?
We've come a long way since 2016, we've had our ups and downs since launch till now. But its amazing how far the game has come since then, how many new players have come in, how many new ideas, art, opinions, and posts have been made up until now.
To think we came from something like this as a simple concept to something more. Of course we've had some people that were not as favorable to be around, some things that people didn't like, or some perks and killers that we all wanted a change to.
But its good to know where we came from, and what this games been up against in terms of popular games like F13 or Last Year: The Nightmare. We've seen a lot come and go, and some friends have left and returned and left and returned.
But what I like about this community the most is that there is a seat for you when you come back and that's something I think is pretty amazing, people who want to remember you will. And new faces come everyday with new insight on certain subjects.
I can't wait to see what the future has in stored for us though, all I know is i'm sure it'll be an interesting one indeed, what do you guys think?

That's not the point I was going for here but alrighty.

I'm tentative about the future, while the game is in a better state then it was previously, it has gotten worse before, and could get worse again. I think the end game change was a nice start, but until I start seeing some map reworks and/or real killer buffs (as legion just got nerfed, I understand why, but too much was taken away and not enough given). Honestly, I want to see something compete with this game, because I think that will force the devs to actually make this game fun for everyone, instead of catering to the majority and once in awhile giving something to the minority to keep them placated. I am glad they at least seem to acknowledge killers these days, but I still feel they are treated as the least favorite child.

We can only hope, and I've already discussed my feeling about legions change in a post.
Something like that was a bit too much for the killer imo, so I hope Freddys rework will be a stark contrast to that.

I'm not familiar with these new things you guys came up with.
I don't remember anyone using that before I left so, all I remember was people posting stuff with a Legion pin image at the end of their post.

It's not that new, but it's understandable.
On-topic: Yes, it has come a long way, but I don't think it was all good. Getting out from under Starbreeze's thumb was definitely a step in the right direction, but some design choices are questionable at best.

Nothings perfect i'm afraid, but room for improvement is there.
1 -
Oh, definitely. Now that Starbreeze is out of the picture, the devs have full creative control, at least where game design is concerned. Obviously license holders have some say in how their characters look, but probably not the perks.
2 -
They stay true to what their given I can respect that, but whats great about some licensed killers is that the people with that license can sometimes be very chill about it.
Of course in Jasons situation that's a no 100% mainly because of money, but its nice to know not every movie killer suffers the same issue.

We have come far.
I'll never forget Howling Grounds though.

Sadly I came around after Howling Grounds (October 1st 2018) so I didn't get to experience it. All I know about it is it was the last event to have exclusive skins given out to people who were there.
Now that is kind of a dead concept now a days since newer players would dislike that heavily.

That was more obvious than it should of been, not sure why I didn't think about that.

The longevity is quite amazing considering the game is really pretty repetitive with no real purpose to continued play other than unlocking perks. Whether by accident or design it definitely has something addictive about it where some people will play for hundreds of hours. I gotta say it mostly stirs negative emotions in me these days though...the thrills and excitement of the early days are now replaced by angst, anger and frustration.

As things change, so do peoples views. May that be in a good light or bad, people will change their opinions over time.
Its sad to see you view it like that these days, but its always good to be positive even in bad times. Because if you get frustrated or angry, you're only just hurting yourself ya know?

Indeed. Which is why I seldom play now. (Just every now and again as low rank killer...)

Maybe when things change we can see you back in the fray.

Yes this game has come a long way, while I might not agree with everything that happens, I am glad this game will remain a pioneer of this sort of genre.
(The pin never left =))

The updated version of "the pin" is better anyways. Glad the Legion is still around after three months of being absent.
0 -
@FireHazard We never left, however I think I've been the sole pin user nowadays. Though, some like @Chaotic_Riddle uses their version of Legion now as a signature. I used to use the Rare version of the Legion pin, but I like the Iridescent Pin.

I like the new one better, mainly because its cropped out better than the rare version @Chaotic_Riddle and others in the past used.

It really has. I remember back in the day when the shack had two windows and there were no window blockers. Or when sprint burst was 20 seconds and recovered in a chase. Or the window and pallet vacuums stronger than any Dyson on the market. It's crazy looking back and seeing how much the game has changed. You don't really notice it if you've been playing the whole time, but it's a night and day difference when you watch a video of the beta.
On some level, it makes me really happy that we're at the point now where Object of Obsession is being called an OP perk at times. I'd take that over infinites and the rest any day.
And soon we're turning three. Yay.

@FireHazard That would be my bad. I don't have the app needed to render it better. I don't know who cropped it to make it better. But I thank them for it.

Yes, its nice to know where we came from. A lot of people don't really know how it used to be back in 2016 or the beta even.
Its interesting to see how stark of a contrast 2019 DBD is to 2016, its like chocolate and vanilla or water and fire. Its also nice to meet some creative and amazing individuals that still talk and make art for this game to this day.
The games had its ups and downs but the genre wouldn't be the same without it! And i'm very much excited for its 3rd anniversary as well, I can't wait to see whats in stored. Some new art contests, a new event maybe. Or even some nice visuals to celebrate, my minds just thinking of all the possible outcomes.

Wasn't the old pin badly compressed too?
0 -
@FireHazard The first pin was me cropping from what we had. The second was a better rendition and a upgrade to the original.
The third is something I use now cause I like it.
(I am not responsible for the creation of the better rendered pins. I AM responsible for convincing the idea of using it though. I believe it was @Chaotic_Riddle who popularized the use.)

Yeah the first one is what I was talking about above, it was badly compressed. The 2nd was the upgraded version when everyone wanted to get fancy with it.
The 3rd ones the best in my opinion.

@FireHazard Mm. Yes, (I've updated the post) but we have gone off topic.
Again, I'm happy with how the game is going. May it last a while longer.

For me I hope it has many years in its future.

@Shad03 @FireHazard Thanks for the mentions <3
