Fix totem spawns before you fix exit gate spawns

All this complaining about 1v1 EGC gate spawns... do people not realize that is the THIRD chance for survivors to escape the trial? You can fix gens with your team. If you fail that, the last of you can get the hatch. That’s chance #2. If the killer finds it first and closes it, opening an exit gate is chance three to escape. Who cares if it’s difficult? Is it fair for a killer who has killed three survivors and closed the hatch to then have zero chance to catch the last survivor?

But the strangest part about all this spawn complaining is that killer have been dealing with it for years. Why should my Ruin totem spawn right beside a survivor? Or right beside a gen? Or right by killer shack?

I had a game last night where my Ruin spawned right outside the shack. I didn’t even bother to check on it. Stayed on the other side of the map. Of course, before I even saw a survivor, it was gone. Fix that horse ****. Then maybe we can talk about how the survivors THIRD avenue of escape needs to be even easier.

Whether you’re SWF or not, you’re still on a team trying to do gens.

You can change if a totem spawns in an open field right next to a generator or hidden behind an obstacle.

People with maps, Small Game, or Detective's Hunch will find those totems no matter how well hidden they are.

TBH... Doesn't matter where you put them... You think by hiding them better you'll save about 10 or more seconds before it is destroyed.

How much harder can they hide them seriously?... They would need to put them in such a fashion where you wouldn't be able to see them unless you're a few meters away.. which would be insane.

Stop relying on the perk if you have a hard time using it. It really isn't that big of a deal.

Don't put them near the shack.. don't put them near the gens.. don't put them on the hills.. don't put them in the open...

Don't let it spawn nears survivors... Cause we don't know where you spawn and then realize which side of the map it is on.. so you made my job 50% easier.

Guess what... That means they are all in certain locations now... making them even easier to find. The harder you make them to find on the maps.. The easier overtime survivors will smash them down... It doesn't take long for good survivors to know and remember where most of the hiding spots are.

Sadly no matter where they spawn, survs are going to find them...

I have said this before, there are 3 easy fixes to totems

    1) Remove the red fire, make them have the entity black "fog" look. (just like the fog that covers the gens)

    2) Every totem has this look, dull or not. This will force clearing of all totems which will help slow the gen rush

    3) once cleansed the effect of the totem has a timer, the effects will clear over a time based on the level of the hex 30,60,90 etc

Boom even if found by luck right away, the perk is not wasted, we have added secondary actions for survivors and last but not least we have made them less obvious red fire vs black fog.

That’s a whole lot of text I’m not reading just because you want to nitpick the definition of team 😆

They have been steadily improving totem spawn locations. It's 10x better than it used to be.

The issue isn't that Survivors should have a free escape if they're the last one alive, the issue is that the killer shouldn't be guaranteed a 4k if he manages to find the hatch first after killing three survivors who potentially are just throwing themselves at the killer. The survivor should have a chance. Also, there are 2 potential ways to exit, the exit gates, or the hatch. There are not three, the end game collapse just makes that first option available.

I personally believe ALL maps need to be EXACTLY the same size, that way they can balance things a lot better overall. Totem spawns could easily be fitted into that, as well as exit gate spawns.

This one actually got good place for hex and take note that everyone is already badly injured and no gens completed.

I mean seriously, the games literally hate you when you play as killer.

Well ruin doesn't matter as most survs just power through gens now....but.....meanwhile....

For the first time I get what you guys talking about. I were always, since the release of DBD, the opinion that the survs are one team. But I think now that you're point could be true.

Just like the killer can act like a ######### and camp and tunnel his way to get his easier kills (if he do not, than because of mercy) you can let down you're team mates to safe your own life. In the end you are the one who survived.

    Thank you for it!

Cool story, but I enjoy using some of the M1 killers, and play at high ranks, so Ruin is usually required just for the off chance that it spawns somewhere decent.

Its gone too fast to be a crutch. Also, Ruin isn’t the only hex perk.
