You're getting it backwards. It's not that Alert doesn't counter Freddy's Dream Demon, it's that Dream Demon counters Alert. Freddy is the only killer who can counter Alert.

This thread is just... dumb. Freddy is invisible if you aren't in the dream world. Here's a little help if you are confused as to what that means.

Auras only work if you can see someone. This is true for all perks that allow the survivor to see the killer's aura. Object of Obsession for example is awful vs Freddy. Alert isn't special.
Oh, and the entire argument that about Alert and Mettle of Man is particularly bizarre. They have nothing to do with each other. There is no logical connection or reason to bring up Mettle of Man.
