Is DS broken?
Is the killer suppose to be able to do this?

That is not intended

Yeah...that only happened because the hook was so close and the skillcheck put the point so far away from the starting area... That sucks. Like Treeman said, thats not intended. Fortunately, it IS really rare the it would happen like that so USUALLY it would work as intended. I could see maybe a hotfix that limited where the skillcheck success zone could spawn wouldnt be too hard to do.
Side note... Thats a Billy. He PROBABLY has enduring...and youre in the middle of a cornfield away from any pallets or windows. I think you were probably screwed even if you got off his shoulder. Not saying thats an excuse for your perk not working as intended or anything to do with balance, just that you shouldnt get TOO caught up with your DS not working in this particular instance.

People reported this a while back. I'm surprised it's not fixed yet. That's really annoying.

The hooking animation started before the skill check was completed.
Usually one animation finishes, before the next one starts.
So working as intended XD

I do not think that is a bug. It's just because you are too close to the hook and it's not gonna cancel him mid hook animation. This is why if I know I'm gonna get the DS I always move a little ways away from hooks.

Animations have priorities. The hooking animation has a higher priority then the stun animation, thats why you cant blind-save while the killer is hooking.

They said the skillcheck should appear as soon as he hits the pick up button.
But then again, they've said a lot of things.

This is working as intended as you are supposed to DS off the killer's shoulder, but once you're in the hooking animation you're counter as being hooked. This is why you can't run towards hooks when you have DS. If you're close to a hook you most likely won't get your ds. The best solution is if you have ds, run at the killer and take the down. They either have to eat the DS or leave you on ground to wait out the timer.
Skillcheck appears right when it is supposed to. You have to be fully on the killer's shoulder and it went active as soon they were. They've said this like 5 times over the years since ds was released, it isn't meant to break animations.

Not really a "bug" per se. But yeah too close to hook and they get basically i-frames during animations. Just make sure to not be right on top of a hook when you get downed

When grabbed.
I think being grabbed means when the killer picks me up by my pants, not when I'm on his/her shoulder.
It should obviously get fixed.

You mean just the wording on the perk. You're taking it very literal.

I believe for a game where timing, strategy, and planning is highly critical to the gameplay, wording should be taken seriously.
