Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

This is how it is written in the reception section of the Wikipedia. A bit harsh don't you think? Especially with how popular the game actually is. Volatile fanbase is very true though.

Dead by Daylight received "mixed or average reviews", according to review aggregator Metacritic.[19]GameSpot awarded it a score of 6 out of 10, saying "Dead by Daylight executes the concept of a competitive horror game well, but only to a point."[22]

The game has received a reputation due to its especially volatile fanbase and large amounts of bugs and inadvertent leaks. It has undergone a fair amount of negatory criticism as a result of common issues such as frequent disconnecting from matches, "camping", a strategy that consists of standing directly next to a hooked survivor to prevent them from being rescued and the unsatisfactory matchmaking. Recently, not only was Ash Williams leaked as a survivor, but Ghostface was also accidentally revealed as the next upcoming DLC killer.[23]

Salty person edited it? Definitely a survivor because camping is mentioned.

I think the reviews are like that because the game seriously lacks horror. After playing the game for a bit, the only time you will actually feel scared is facing The Shape, other than that neither of the killers are scary.

And compared to other horror games, DBD is really outclassed by them. Alien Isolation and Outlast create huge tension and anxiety, because you are powerless, you can't fight back, there's nothing that you can do to stop those monsters from harming you.

Outlast, Alien Isolation, Fatal Frame, Dead Space, Amnesia and the list goes on, DBD does not reach the level of horror that any of these games have. Hell even The Last of Us and Subnautica are more scary than DBD.

They should stop the false advertising, and remove the "Horror" tag from the game. I think the community unanimously agrees that there is nothing horror in this game, apart from maybe a few jumpscares caused by Myers or Pig.

Well popular doesn't always mean positive.
