Anyone noticed the similarities between The Entity and the D&D plane of Ravenloft?

Title says it all. The Entity is a living breathing demi-plane of sorts that steals people to it's hellish dimension for it's own ends and personal sustenance from all across space time. Known for it's fog and red stain marking the corruption of beings from the Entity's touch.

Ravenloft is a sentient plane of existence filled with undead and evil beings that it has stolen across space time. Much like the Entity, those stolen be Ravenloft are not allowed to leave unless you are protected by lots of legal red tape. It is ALSO known for stealing locations from the world and drawing them into itself much like the Entity trying to recreate locations. Ofcourse the most notable mark of Ravenloft is it's sentient red fog that searches out and draws the unfortunate to this prison of a plane of existence.

Thanks for sparing me some time. I was going to post the same thing. Each realm in the demiplane of dread is ruled by a monster if some sort. They wield incredible power, but they are forever prisoners to the Mists. I can’t believe that the creators of Dead by Daylight didn’t use Ravenloft as an inspiration.

The Entity reminds me of the "Other Mother" from Coraline. She is an entity, a sort of emotional vampire that lures people in and feeds on them. The Entity has created a perpetual, emotional roller coaster for the Killers and Survivors she has brought inside.

Now that you say this, I suddenly want Strahd von Zarovich as a Killer, maybe with Rudolph van Richten as the Survivor.

It will literally never happen, and is way too far into fantasy for BHVR's normal DBD style, but the connections are there. Maybe an agreement between Ravenloft and the Entity to allow Strahd to participate in the trials, similar to Silent Hill and the Entity. Plus Castle Ravenloft has so much potential for a map.
