The problems with The Ghost and my suggestions on a fix

First off, no, I'm not calling him The Ghost Face. I'll call him The Ghost, Ghost Face, but never The Ghost Face. Change it, please Behavior.

Now, Ghost Face was meant to be a stealth killer. However, he has two counters that just unbelievably unfair. Looking around, and prediction perks.

So let's discuss looking around. Pig and Myers aren't punished when spotted. They still maintain their stealthy nature and can choose to end it to chase, or keep sneaking about, such as stalking or trying to ambush. The Ghost on the other hand has his power immediately shut down upon being seen for one second. It's not hard for one survivor to just follow from afar - and I mean from a VERY far distance - and spot him. When seen, The Ghost is immediately forced out of stealth, meaning his power is - ultimately useless. Downed survivors, hooked survivors, and possibly survivors hiding in lockers can just yank him out of stealth. A killer is meant to use his power to take control away from the survivor, not the other way around. Any survivor with situational awareness can just spot him peeking, run in the opposite direction and because his baby toe was sticking out around the wall, Ghost Face can be spotted and pulled out of stealth entirely.

Next, lets discuss prediction perks. Killer looking your way? Spinechill lights up. Need to find him from across the map? Object of Obsession will tell you exactly where he is, even if he's on the other side of the wall not looking at you so you know to move. Premonition? Well... eh no one really uses that much but you get the point. Here's another benefit to Object of Obsession: since his power takes away The Ghost's Terror Radius, it works no matter how close he is.

The main problem is it yanks him out of stealth entirely. But the biggest weakness Ghost Face has? That's himself. The ribbons on his robe and the absolutely ridiculous amount of noise he makes when moving. I honestly haven't heard a killer so loud since Spirit. It's near impossible to sneak up on survivors when he makes so much noise. Michael and Pig have loud breathing yes but at least the generator can mask it when powered up, not to mention they have to be pretty close for you to hear them.

In summary: Just looking at him ruins his power, we have perks that make it impossible for him to sneak up, and he makes too much noise to be sneaky.

My suggestion:

The Ghost's power should be independent from his sneaking. The stealth should be something he engages willingly like Pig. However, stalking should be heavily drained when a survivor is staring him down. If you've watched the movies, Ghost Face has surprisingly strong awareness, able to tell when to strike and who to kill first - for anyone aware or not, think of the "Look behind you" scene. His stalk power should be a charge he passively gets and can spend to mark survivors. Have the noise he makes when sneaking be extremely quiet, and remove the audio cue for when he enters stealth. A small audio cue to note when you're being marked. If you've spotted him, then Ghost Face can't stalk you any further, forcing him to try another survivor or just pursue as normal. If another survivor is watching him when he's stalking, he gets the indicator he's being watched as his stalk meter is slowly drained. This would encourage him to chase down another survivor and break his stealth.

Everyone, Ghost Face is headed for an early grave. Share all the suggestions you have - balancing ideas, ways to make him feel more useful, more scary and less predictable. We're a strong community, so lets give this guy the help he desperately needs.

I agree with you in everything but the ribbons on his robe. They are a fashion statement and they are cool as hell! Don't mess with the ribbons.

You may think "So, what's the deal with those ribbons anyway? Is he a normal murderous dude like The Clown or is he a paranormal being like The Spirit?" and the answer is DON'T THINK ABOUT IT! The ribbons are just awesome! Drop it! Less thinking more stalking! It is staby staby fun time now!

Hey I have nothing against the ribbons. In fact, I LOVE the ribbons. Just feel they should slump down when he's standing still.
