ye sure game is great but no way this is near horror climat atleast not anymore , there is nth scary in this game closest to scary is only hag , you can tell nobody feel like its actual horror just by looking how survivors play , survivors mostly bully killers not the other way around . its like killer is a main hero and survivors are villains lol

@thrawn3054 I wished they did too. I really did at one point of time thoroughly enjoyed the game. F13 devs killed it before the lawsuit. The lawsuit just finalized it

@SpacingLlamas it was in a rough spot, but still had a chance. The lawsuit was it's death though.

Almost every asymmetrical horror game is better than Dead by Daylight. They're just less successful because DbD launched first. It's the Facebook of asym horror.

F13 is debatable, but it does have several features DbD should have, White Noise 2 is vastly superior to either, but was undermarketed to death, and Soul at Stake is a knockoff of DbD with better mechanics.

So it's completely POSSIBLE for DbD to be better. That's why people are complaining. This is, apparently, the only asym we're allowed to have, so we want it to be as good as we know it could be.

DBD is one of my top 3 games of all time.

Which is why I always complain about it.

Deathgarden anyone? I'd say that game is better and he'll it's also by BHVR. I'd rather be playing that then dbd but I'm a console peasant so I have to wait for the PS4 release. :(

    Aha!

Now you're complaining about other people complaining about other people complaining about other people complaining!...

Wait. That means I'm complaining about other people complaining about other people complaining about other people complaining about other people complaining.

Guys, I there's a glitch in the matix.

On a serious note, I actually feel DBD being "the best of it's genre" is not a good thing. Having little to no competition makes the devs complacent and their products non-competitive. We see this almost on every single patch were they underdeliver the chapter with (sometimes) questionable balance fixes and a whole trojan-horse load of bugs; some game-breaking.

The DBD team has the resources to optimize, fix and maintain an almost AAA game. They have the means to deliver on much needed changes the game needs in a timely manner (a few months at most), but if there is absolutely no pressure from a competitor there is also no incentive to do it.

Best example was PUBG; they were making obscene amount of money but refused to really put the time and resources to fix their game and deliver a proper product. Fortnite comes along and pretty much murders PUBG in the span of a year because (even if you don't like the game) it was a much better quality product (and free to play to boot).

All it takes is a powerhouse company (like Epic) to tap into the asymmetrical horror genre and the same will happen to DBD. You can only get away with delivering mediocre stuff before it bites you in the butt.

    TL;DR

There no strong competitors of DBD, that's why the game is in a relatively poor state (for turning 3 years old) even if it still is fun to play. Game would be orders of magnitude better if we had one good competitor of DBD

Even though I'm upset with balance issues, you are completely right. This game has holes in it sure. but it is without a question fun as hell
