What is "buffer"?
As the title suggests, what is the buffer? an additional time when you have to watch the killer? if so, why is it called by this specific term "buffer"?

It doesn't take 45 seconds, it gives them the exposed status FOR 45 seconds.

It requires the camera to be pointing at GF for 0.3 seconds before the 1.5s of revealing start, otherwise Survivors could just rotate their camera around willy-nilly and still reveal GF without putting any effort into it.

so the buffer would be the new mechanic that force the survivor to have ghostface in the center of the camera?

^ This, but I am also confused as to why they broke it into a buffer time + reveal time rather than just having a 1.8s reveal time. Unless there is an addon or something that increases the amount of time it takes to be revealed. Haven't actually looked at all GF's addons.

You have to "reveal" Ghost Face for 1.5 seconds total to break Ghost Face out of Night Shroud. The buffer is a slight delay before that starts accumulating. Say you look at Ghost Face. 0.3 seconds later, it'll start revealing him.
It's a very slight delay, but this prevent someone from just spinning their camera to gradually detect you.
