How does Benedict Baker know about the entity?
Comments
-
In lore, there are people in the game's world that worships the entity

Where do you even found this? In his journal he states that he looked for info why people disappear around Macmillan Estate.

On the dead by daylight wiki.Read the first paragraph on 'Benedict Baker'.

''Benedict Baker was actively looking for The Entity's Realm and wanted to find out how to enter it and how it works. He eventually succeeded and is now trapped in the endless cycle of the Trials like the other Survivors, whom he has met. He even has met some of the Killers.''

At first, he didn't know what he was looking for. Eventually, he discovered the Entity. Read the journal entries in the next section and you'll see.
3 -
He was investigating the Macmillan Estate because many people went missing there, he got abducted and then found out about the Entity by himself

Question: From what year would Benedict Baker be taken from? I would say 1800s or 1900s, but he is astounded on being stuck in the year 1896.

@Ember_Hunter 1956
I began my search in the summer of 1956 after hearing of the town of Weeks, a place that had an unusual number of missing persons reports. America is filled with such towns. But what made this one more odd than some, was that there had never been a report of a body found. Indeed, the number of open missing cases stood at a staggering 364, the last of which happened a mere ten weeks ago. Thus I embark on my journey

But description of bloodweb dated by 1896... Like, ######### happening with lore?
3 -
Because he learned of the blood web after entering the trials where time is not linear and can jump forward and back, he probably came across another survivor from 1896 and took that as the year he signed for the blood web (i don't remember seeing dates on the later journal entries so it is possible he realized this and gave up on dating his works)

No, that's just a plothole.

Isn't that where most theories lie tho?

More reasons we need archives :)

Again, would like to push that Benedict may be part of the archives, since his journal entries mention a library and an archive...

I think one of the devs stated that Benedict may have been able to escape the Entity's Realm and then he came back in 1896. (Weird time and space stuff)

Considering the entities realm is made of auric cells which have been proven to be easily controlled by survs (sometimes even unknowingly) in the cases of Vigo who created his own little realm which contained his lab, and Quentin who unknowingly manipulates them to ensure a medkit. With the manipulation of auric cells in mind one could theoretically remove all in the area and escape the trials to the real world or immediately get thrown in the void

@TrueKn1ghtmar3 the only problem I can see with this is that the entity allows it in some form. The entity lets us access the bloodweb (unless something else summons the bloodweb, but in that case what other entity's creation is it? That's another can of worms not suited here), which is how Quentin and other survivors are able to learn how to manipulate them, if only slightly.
In my opinion, Vigo was allowed to 'escape' the trials by the Entity, as an experiment of soughts. Perhaps the Entity grew curious about what an 'escaped' survivor would do, perhaps it doesn't know much about itself/auric cells and sensed his scientific prowess and tried to get it to research him, then use that info itself. As it is, the Entity could still be a baby of soughts, and hasn't reached full power. We can see it growing, daring itself and messing with it's trial experimentally; blocking gens, self-sacrificing survivors, and a few more tidbits. She's given killers more power in some cases, even denying the survivors the hatch.
Another good tidbit is that it's getting better at both sensing those who would accept being taken by the Entity willingly and how to manipulate those who wouldn't without torture. The "Time isn't consistent" argument doesn't work here, because it is consistent within it's realm, so we can judge by how the recent killers are accepting the Entity, at least begrudgingly, that it's getting more skilled.
All in all, it's very likely the entity is manipulating everyone, and in Vigo's case specifically to study, as an experiment.

And the only issue i see with the entity being a baby of sorts is the fact its impossible considering as i pointed out that auric cells are defined as the primordial building blocks of everything
