Ignorance or Intent?

As the title says is the state of DBD due to ignorance or intent, I would like to think people are not so ignorant to let blaring issues like this go unresolved but you never know but if this is what the devs intended for the game to be then they have no idea how to design video games.

Case and point I just watched this video and it perfectly shows whats wrong with the current game, if you watch this from start to finish and say things like "this is how it was meant to be, the player is just bad, this is balanced" then you are as much a problem to the growth of this game as the devs themselves are.

I will link the video watch if you want say that I am wrong say the player is wrong but anyone with a logical mind will be able to tell something is seriously wrong with the current state of this game and if it continues down this path I doubt will we be celebrating a year four.

Why did I know whose video it was before even opening it? Not surprised.

If you looked at his situation throughout the whole video you would understand why

    1. So you never win on Coldwind? I'm sorry for you.
    2. Plenty of places to stalk on Coldwind.
    3. SWF means #########, since sometimes they're easier to face than solo because of altruism and again, if you never win on Coldwind I'm sorry, bro.

To all of you who just don't realize his situation, and the game's situation, he was going against a Survivor With Friends team on a coldwind farm map, and since because all of the coldwind farm maps are already stupidly design in of itself, it makes it a whole lot worse when you're going against a Survive With Friends team, and to put the cherry on top of the cake, is when one of them are carrying the perk of OoO, which already completely neglects GhostFaces power and add coldwind Farm into the mix, and he's basically just an M1 killer.

And it comes into the health condition of the game when the power roll is going to the survivor's more than it should be going to the Killer, and you can clearly see it well in that video, everything that the survivors did was very super well-organized, they had everything planned, when to get in a chase, when to unhook someone, when to start repairing, when to throw down a pallet, when not to, everything.

And it's not because he plays poorly, yes there's a couple of times where he makes mistakes, but most of the other times, or almost always, is because of the unbalanced power roll, one thing you do can lead you as the power role, but then the next thing you know, something they do puts them in the power roll and completely screws you over, I.e adrenaline, dead hard, DS, insta heals, balanced Landing, Noed, haunted grounds, make your choice, Spirit fury + enduring etc, but most of the time, the power roll always seems to be led by the survivors, not the killer, and when it comes to facing SWF, you're having to stressed out into compete to regain control of being the power roll.

As Tru3 said so many times in his streams, its a 1 v 4, not a 1 v 1, and the devs don't take that into consideration, and make killers that barely have any map wide pressures, and add to the fact that they make maps that are way too big, even for killers like billy and nurse, and that leads killers to having to rely on perks and add-ons, while survivors have their pallets and windows, and most of their perks and items and add-ons only come in as a clutch.

This game is so unbalanced to the point where even the smallest thing that a killer or Survivor does can completely shift the power role.

And at the end, if you were to look closely at his situation and listen closely to what he said, you would know why he did what he did, he was basically caught in a corner.

We’re allowed to point out flaws in this “evidence”. Killer isn’t easy sure but we should have one role that leaves little to no room for mistakes, killers of course needs buffs but a 100% balanced game would be boring.

The game is strongly survivor sided, that's a simple fact.

1 vs 1 shouldn't last as long as they do in dbd, making survivor both thr power a day number role.

Great survivors will always beat a similar level killer unless they mis play

    "The game isn't balanced"

90% of 4Ks until the reds. Hm.

Not saying anything, just try to be less biased when making bold statement.

    @cetruzzo

Your first sentence basically says "Do it better, if you can". This is simply a dumb argument. Even if other people would do mistakes here, there is nothing wrong with pointing out mistakes.

And well, as much as I like tru3 and I really think he is a good player and also Killer, especially that he allowed BT to prog every time was not the most optimal move, to put it nicely. I mean, he is even suspecting them to have BT, sure, sometimes it is not avoidable and you need to take the risk, but when the injured guy unhooks someone, there is no reason to go for the unhooked person at this point.

"Hey I am a blind survivor main.

He only lost because of tunnel and camp otherwise killers always stand a fair chance, especially without ruin.

    omega lul i'm smart"

I don't know what everyone expects killers to do.

    Unhooks in front of killer

    Killers downs injured survivor

    Survivors scream camp + tunnel

    Entitlement at it's finest.

If there's any problem with the game this video points out it's just the map itself. Farm maps are horribly designed because they have pretty much no mindgameable loops.

The devs are already working on improving that so we'll just have to wait and see how that goes.

takes zero competency to tunnel as killer

anyone who dont tunnel like he did already outperform him

I'm sure all of you people could play better than this guy. Sure, it won't be easy, but I know you could eventually. Just because someone has a Youtube channel or a Twitch does not mean they are particularly good.

In fact, the only Twitch channel I watch is the one of the survivor I find myself facing at the moment. I stop watching when they die and don't stay as spectator, I always make sure to thank them for the information in their chat of course ;-)

@jeyers I don't care about performing well in the eyes of survivors. My goal is to make sure noone escapes. If I can quickly establish which one is the easiest to eliminate, I will tunnel that survivor in a heartbeat.

He tunneled first time ace when there were only 2 gens left. Around that time you either need at least 2 survivors on death hook or 1 death otherwise you lose.

If he left ace on the ground because of DS and left for gens he would lose both, ace and the gens and lost even harder.

He used GF's power but red rank survivors have eyes unlike other ranks and since GF is also loopable you basically can't do almost anything with him against good survivors. Especially on corn maps, the most survivor sided maps in the game.

Lol survivors swarming hook and killer defends it = killer tunneling, camping, playing scummy right. True didn't tunnel at all, if he did Ace as the first one hooked would died much eariler. He made risky but smart plays and got punished by survivor's second, third, fourth, fifth chance perks.

He did missplay, which happens to everyone especially when you start getting stressed out because you played poorly, it just stacks up.

The loss was deserved because of thoses missplays, but the game still has blatant balance issues with SWF, especially the ones who actually play to win.

SWF is the only thing that makes playing this game tolerable.

Intent. The state the game is in can't be attributed to ignorance, as it would basically be at cartoon levels by this point. If I had to guess, it's a business decision and fairly easy to discern.

One satisfied killer for four dissatisfied survivors. One cosmetic purchase vs potentially four. HUM.

Maybe you should rethink playing the game at this point. If you require the unfair advantage of communications with other people to even have fun then you weren't enjoying the game to begin with. The game is intended to be difficult to a certain degree, or used to be. I play SWF from time to time too, but I also enjoy Solo and Killer (When possible). SWF eliminates that dificulty or whats left of it.

The only way you win is with the handicap of SWF am I right were as the man in the video has reached rank 1 every reset alone. SWF is not needed to be good its only use is to make ranking a joke you don't earn your rank.

God forbid a team that actually works together smartly gets to win. Nah F that killers need to get 4Ks every game only 1 isn’t enough against a well played team

  • miaasma
    miaasma Member Posts: 911

telling people that the killer misplayed is just blasphemy to them. they see a swf on a survivor favoured map and assume that the game was unwinnable

abatoir is a pretty awful map and one of them had an instaheal, so that's rough, but in contrast he failed to play around the perks he audibly acknowledged they probably had. getting dsed like that was a huge blow and he actually had the upper hand when he was slugging at the jungle gym. he definitely could have at least had 2 kills but he hit the BT person at the end, and he probably could have gotten more without misplaying in general

  • BunnyTheHutt
    BunnyTheHutt Member Posts: 1,773

    False.

    1. Half the gens are in the middle of the corn, so goodluck stalking anyone
    2. SWF are usually more cordinated the 4 randoms, so they are not easier if they play smart and not just go full altruism for their friends.
    3. Winning is hard with ghostface, but not impossible, but goodluck getting anything more then just a safety.

Yea red ranks are ass. If you want fun games go too high purple and green, it's the fun ranks where you will get a bunch of different people and play styles and not forced too loose every game because of how unbalanced this game is. Just wish the devs would stop making content and fix the content that they have.
