All survivors are sacrificed on their first hook!

Hey hate it or love it... you have to admit there would be no more camping or tunneling :D

    I'm just going to assume sarcasm and say this would be a great fix.

    Or you could just y'know leave the hook and check gens or something like that. People who camp and tunnel only do so to cause grief nothing else, its not a tactic or a play style its just a straight up dick move

    Yeah, sure, there's nothing tactical about tunnelling. Definitely doesn't reward the killer in any fashion.

    Actually a lot of players do it as a strat especially if the gens are gping fast.

    Your perception on why players do it is completely wrong in this instance to try and cause an argument.

    There are legit cases for doing either strat as each game is different and players adapt to how the game is playing out.

    If you want to see it in play watch McLean stream, he regularly patrol camps and tunnels but I guess he is just griefing and not actually playing the game he helps make simply how he wishes to.

    @Dehitay ,

    I would hardly call it a reward. Why not challenge yourself and go for someone else. I play a lot of killer and rarely resort to camping or tunneling, only if they're being toxic AF or there's 1 gen 4 survs. Its not that hard to get a 4k without camping and tunnelling. You will get better at the game also in the long run

    I mean do people here play to have fun? Or play to ruin other peoples experience? I'm curious

    I don't really tunnel much myself. I always go for the easiest survivor. But to sit there and say that tunnelling isn't tactical is to destroy your credibility. And so is saying that it's easy to get a 4K at high ranks. Sure you'll eventually get one if you play enough games, but there's nothing easy about it. Once you get to around purple ranks, 4K's are the result of hard work or dumb luck.

    In my first comment I was referring to people who camp to specifically cause grief you know like when there's 5 gens left 5 gateauxs brought and a wraith hook camps cloaked, that kind of thing. Your perception of my perception is completely wrong.

    Here's someone who perfectly understands killer side gameplay.

    Since survivors never swarm the hook and if killer defends it he's beiing a dick for trying to win right. Survivors on the other hand never try to ruin killer's experince and care very deeply if he's having fun.

    @Dehitay

    Your right. Tunnelling is tactical I just dont do it. I might follow someone off the hook and down them again but not hook them. I play a bit if survivor too and when playing killer I guess I'm too conscious of the fact 4 other human beings are trying have fun too

    @Jed_Olsen

    Well maybe you should have put what you just said in your original post instead of it saying nothing to that effect thus leaving it open to interpretation ;P.

    Just a thought.

    @twistedmonkey

    OP's post was fairly sarcastic I presumed he was one of the people who camp to produce salt@twistwood

    (I didn't mean to tag you twistwood my bad)

    While as a survivor I often complain about killers face camping me, I find as a killer I will sometimes do the same if I get looped a great deal by one particular player. Otherwise I don't facecamp.

    @Jed_Olsen Since you say it's not hard to get a 4k without tunneling or camping: Would you tell us which killers you are playing and on which rank?

  • FrenziedRoach
    FrenziedRoach Member Posts: 2,600

    I don't tunnel or camp by default because I understand that time is not on my side. If I camp a hook, smart survivors will pound out the gens. If I leave the hook, I effectively pull 3 people off gens. Which means, I won't have to tunnel either.

    THAT BEING SAID

    If everybody comes to the hook, why should I leave?

    If survivors have proven to me they are fast rescuers, why should I leave right away?

    If some idiot unhooks under my nose, why shouldn't i take the easier prey? I hate getting hook farmed as survivor, and hitting the injured person punishes the farmer both in points and in emblems. So you bet your ass I'm going to punish that.

    I'm not a braindead bot that lives by pre-programmed rules. I'm a thinking human being that adapts as the situation warrants that. I make the call that I feel is right in any given situation.

    I don't care if you think I'm weak

    I don't care if you think it's unfair

    I don't care if it hurts your points

    Your opinion of me is meaningless - you are just another of the thousand people I've gamed against and forgotten over the 2 decades I've been gaming online, I will likely forget about you in 2 games away.

    There is only the objective. And my objective is to destroy you.

    Deal with it.

    In case no one got it... this post was actually a complete joke was not meant to be taken serious xD I thought it would be obvious about pointing out that it would remove tunnling and camping which it would... but was not meant to really start a debate here....

    Some people just have no sense of humor.

    Are you going to sit there and tell me there's no strategy to hunting down the person who will be dead sooner? Are you also going to sit there and tell me that patrolling around a hook when survivors, 99% of the time, bum rush the hook for a save, isn't a good way to get another hook or two? Do survivors consider the fun of the killer when they abuse infinite and use their "skill" to run around a pallet over and over again?

    They are absolutely tactics.

    @TeaLeaf Christ, could you imagine the uproar? Actually, you don't have to imagine it. Just go check out the reddit or Steam forum for Deathgarden: Bloodharvest about insta-executes. You know, the game that launched, died quickly, rose from the ashes, and is dying quickly all over again.

    I fish =p as wraith. I'm not after the bait (the hooked person) I just am waiting for the next Target to attempt a unhook. I can normally grab them when they unhook. If they keep running I indeed follow them. And I'm not afraid to slug the one that was unhooked. Or hook if they will be removed.

    @Jed_Olsen yet you dont stand a chance on high ranks without tunneling the first guy to death.

    not if your not playing Spirit, Billy or Nurse that is.

    believe me, i tried. i could not get past rank 4 when playing nicely.
