    It used to make your game brighter, but for some reason they just made the perk into an FoV increaser which should be an ingame option in the first place.

    this perk has been present in the game since release.

    Shadowborn used to make your game considerably brighter, increase your FoV a little but also have you blinded by Flashlights a lot faster.

    Lightborn was the exact opposite: make your game darker but therefore allow you to avoid flashlights easier.


    however, there have been lighting bugs on many maps, therefore they removed / reworked all aspects that would affect the brightness ingame (Shadowborn, Lightborn, Moonbouquets)
