Isn't it pretty much whispers?

You have a counter to Spine Chill, it's patrolling and Whispers, the best killer perk in the game. You're faster than survivors.
Alert...I dunno, you're usually busy chasing someone when Alert is being useful to a survivor who has it. Catch the person you're chasing, and BBQ will tell you where the stealthy Alert user went.

Just pick Myers and don't tier up.

Fun fact: Back in the day when DBD launched Spine chill was far more used and killer's skillfully countered it by learning it's distance and then walked towards generators looking backwards to not trigger it.
Also you counter alert by not breaking stuff.

That's easy enough. If you know someone's using Spine Chill, look away from them as you approach. If you know they're using alert, don't break stuff as your approach. You can save yourself a perk slot just by using your noodle, even.
Spine Chill actually used to be meta back in the Wraith/Spine Chill meta of early 2016. There's definitely counterplay there.

Look away as you approach
Cries in ghostyboi.
To be fair, you can look away to get close then stalk while leaning and it'll probably catch them too quick. Trying to sneak up on someone without looking at them is tough though, exactly how far away do you have to look? Do you have to have them off your screen, or do you just need to look to the side of them?

What do you mean by a counter perk?
Something like distortion or calm spirit that hard counters them? Something else that's more of a soft counter?
Whispers is not a counter, it's more like an equivalent.

Leave my Spine Chill alone.

I wouldn't mind there being an anti-stealth perk for Killers.
It'll just show you people how little stealth perks are actually used.

maybe you could keep this post in mind when you finally rework insidious :D
maybe that could give you an resistance to survivor tracking perks?

Doesn't the same logic apply to a perk like Distortion? I imagine some killer players would like an equivalent of that type of perk. It probably won't be used much by most people, but given how most perks are already designed to be uncompetitive, I don't see it as a problem providing something like that.

It could be tacked onto Insidious.
Insidious:
When outside of a chase for 45/40/35 seconds, your Red Stain, Terror Radius, and Footstep audible range are gradually reduced to 0m over 10 seconds. This effect ends when entering a chase. All effects that reveal your aura will be disrupted and reveal the aura reader's location for 4 seconds.

Countering Alert by not breaking stuff is like countering Bitter Murmur by not repairing generators.

Spine Chill doesn't do much to the killer within a chase, just outside of chases.
And this is coming from a guy who ADORES spine chill.

Would be nice if insidious kept you hidden from detection perks instead of hiding you while being unproductive.

leave one of the only viable stealth perks alone if you wanna keep nerfing everything else survivors have please

Not a bad idea, take my upvote! :)

I am fully aware that it would extremely silly to play this way. But so is the request to counter alert.

Personally I don't think a counter perk is necessary, but I think it would be nice if killers were notified when their aura is exposed.

Survivors too. Killers have dozens of perks to find survivors

I smell the presence of a prayer beads bracelet user here.
