Question about licensed characters.
Something I’ve noticed from the licensed characters (besides Bill) is that they’re all from movies and almost never from either tv shows or other games. I was curious if it’s different/more difficult to get licensing from other games which is why we don’t see characters from there or if the devs would just like to mainly have a roster from other horror movies. Of course there’s nothing wrong with only getting characters from movies it’s amazing to see all the iconic killers and survivors we have if you stop to think about it. I just think it would be nice to see other characters from various games and tv shows that the community would love to have on top of DBD branching out and gaining new audiences with characters.
If DBD was to get survivors and killers from games and tv shows what characters would you want in the game? I know this has been asked many times before but I’m curious to hear your picks. 😊
Games - Outlast, Dying Light
Tv shows - (hopefully) Stranger Things, Creep Show

I could see them branching out into more video game/ tv show characters but I think their focus first was to get all of the main horror icons into the game, which makes sense.

@AshleyWB Alan Wake is actually a pretty good idea, a flashlight based perk would probably be a guarantee for him. Man I loved that game.

Said this in another thread, but Isaac from the Dead Space series would be an awesome fit to DBD.
TV is more difficult because there isn't a lot in horror television in terms of producing big or iconic characters. TV is, of course, very episodic.

Characters from games would be great. I like that you mentioned Outlast because Chris Walker was on my list for a while. Mr. X from Resident Evil would be nice too.

Anyway, I'd love any Stranger Things character as long as they have a lot of unique customization. and Leon S. Kennedy would be epic.

The thing is, you don't think much about horror TV shows. When you think horror, you think Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Hellraiser, Candyman, Child's Play(BHVR PLEASE ADD CHARLES LEE RAY), etc. There aren't many iconic characters that are important enough to warrant licensing in TV shows. However interesting character/s I think would be REALLY nice would be characters from Until Dawn. I'm not gonna name names because I don't wanna point out spoilers but I think it'd be really interesting to have a killer/survivor based from that game, as it is probably the most horror movie styled horror game I can think of.

True there isn’t a lot of popular horror tv shows that people think of but it doesn’t have to strictly be horror like Ash vs evil dead which isn’t really horror. Maybe things such as American horror story, the walking dead and the twilight zone could be ideas for chapters. But yesss I’ve been wanting until dawn to be in the game but sadly I don’t think it will because it’s owned by Sony and they’d have to make it on all platforms. I can only hope though :/
Outlast has always been a big want from me especially for the map because I’ve always loved the look of it and it would be so cool to see in game lol.
