Why do killers need so many cheating abilities?
I've been playing from the beginning and I love this game but I can't understand why as strong and fast as the killers are, why do they need all these crazy perks. You can play with a killer for the first time while playing with the basic abilities it comes with and still manage to kill everyone. So why give the killers so many cheating abilities? Just played with a killer who was alerted when a gen was 85% done, can see injured and healing survivors, saw survivors every time someone was hooked and a perk to make it impossible to escape them. Why??? But yet the speed of the gen, healing speed and gates opening has been slowed down for the survivors. Every new killer brings a whole set of cheating perks, as the survivors get slower. Doesn't make sense, when all a survivor can do is survive. Why????

Well my friend, Survivors have really good perks too.
I think BHVR has for the most part struck a good balance between those.
What Killer perks seems to be the issue for you?

Okay, i'll take the bait.
The first perk you mentioned is called Tinkerer, that almost no one uses btw. By the time the Killer even gets to the gen he/she egts alerted about it is completed, which would have alerted them anyway. Also that's ONE gen of the possible 4 that could be being worked in that moment. Killer still has to chase and down someone when he gets there. Literally laughing at the idea of Tinkerer being overpowered as it's not even close to being meta.
No perk exists that allow killers to see injured survivors unless you mean their blood trails with Bloodhound, which again no one uses, and does nothing against healthy survivors and doesn't assist in a chase. Only assists in not losing you once injured. Tracking perks are hardly cheating.
So I assume you must be referring to Nurse's Calling, which allow you to see aura's of healing survivors. Nurse's is a decent perk, but not meta and again, does not help the killer find someone not injured or in assist them in a chase. Also most killers have at least a 32m terror radius, and the counter is very easy. Don't heal when in the terror radius since Nurses only has a range of 28m.
The 3rd perk you are referring to is called BBQ and Chili, and is countered by either being within 40m of the person being hooked, or jumping into a locker before the person gets hooked which are both pretty easy to do. It's a decent perk but wouldn't ever be used without the bloodpoint modifier it comes with. Super meta (because of the BP's) but not even close to be cheating.
As someone who plays to red ranks of Survivor every month, I understand the frustration of playing Survivor (especially solo) in regards to how slow gens, healing, cleansing, and opening gates are. But calling the perks you listed as cheating is not a good strategy for getting anyone to take you seriously. Especially when only one of the four you listed is even used regularly.

LMAO!
I'm dying.
Imagine being mad that the 1 in a 1-v-4 game is strong. Also, hello yes Survivors have "cheating" perks too if these are what you consider "cheating" perks for Killers.

Why do survivors have so many cheating perks?
9 -
@QueenOfHearts ok, I know it's bait but I'll play along.
There are four survivors. FOUR!!!! That is four times as many as killer (there's only one killer in the game, sadly). Imagine that. Imagine how threatened we feel against four evil creatures, armed with toolboxes and firecrackers.
We need the best perks to face that horror.

Berserk is a lovely series.

You need to play more killer because you obviously don't even know the name of the killer perks to make a valid argument. Better yet, play both sides at red ranks for a month.

Spine Chill counters tinker (and most stealth for that matter). Distortion counters Nurse's, though you could just not heal near to the killer. Jumping in a locker counters BBQ (so does distortion). Otherwise, you can walk one way, then go the other. You could also stay next to strong loops. Most bring BBQ for the BP. There isn't a perk that makes it impossible to escape. Getting strong/decent perks isn't "cheating."

from the beginning
Doesn't know the name of perks

Perks = In game mechanics = cheating
Powers = In game mechanics = cheating
Logic ftw
GG

No perk, addon, or item that is placed in the game by the game developers, and then used by killers or survivors as intended, is cheating.
Move along please, you're embarrassing yourself.

You know usually killers have to look for survivors to see the aura? It’s not something that persists the whole game, perks like Nurses still require the killer to be in range to see you so.. stay out of range?
Perks like BBQ only highlight you if you’re outside of 40m from the killer (and haven’t hidden) and if you’re 40m+ from the killer, ... you’re in no immediate danger and you’ve got time to do something before the killer comes, such as running away, or hiding.
I can think of around 9 perks that let a killer find a survivor in the game based on their aura and the aura of gens (and some of those are a push like territorial imperative). 9/60 perks.
So just be quiet with your whining.

You must be a newer player. Almost all newer players think like this. Your opinion will change.
6 -
Aura perks are only strong if you refuse to use any of the counter play options. Also you can't win a chase by simply running away, either you break Los and escape or drag out the chase until killer gives up.

Lmao this thread. I somehow doubt it that you really played from the beggining. In dbd survivors are the power role, not killers.

I'll gift you Civ 5 if you would like.

@whinykillers lockers are consistent. Sounds like the one whining is you.
Fun fact, though, survivor auras hide behind generator auras. Angle yourself appropriately, and they can't see you.

Part of it is it's 1v4, the killers need great perks to have a chance of winning, it's why so many people buy Hag and Bubba, not just to play them, but for the perks. Having a good set of perks vs a bad set of perks can completely ruin the killer. It can already be stressful enough 1v4 but without good perks on your side if you're not playing a strong killer or specifically a strong build don't bother playing near the red ranks.
