Should ‘We’re Gonna Live Forever’ be buffed?
As it stands, many perks compliment or counter each other. Lightweight, predator. Sole survivor and aura reading. Many other examples. But what about WGLF (were gonna live forever)?
With the release of BBQ, it seems completely obsolete. It’s stacks are OBJECTIVLY more out of he way, and less free to get. Thus it’s harder to get points.
But not just that, BBQ has a VERY STRONG second ability, so should WGLF get an at least half way decent second ability too? Or be buffed back to 200%?
You’re are also welcome to discuss the balance of BBQ and WGLF as well.

WGLF is fine as it is.
WGLF makes the survivors go out of their own way to save others, while BBQ is achieved naturally throughout the match.
Besides we don't need more excuses for the survivors to farm each other.

That’s exactly why I think it needs a buff. It’s harder to get stacks, but causes farming. Make it so you don’t get a stack or lose one if unhook is unsafe. But give it some ability to match BBQ in power.
That’s how EVERY other perk that’s available for both teams works.

WGLF provides a stackable bonus when protecting an Ally (taking a hit) or unhooking an ally. if I had taken a hit for my allies four times and there was one unsafe hook, Would that mean I took a hit for nothing? yeah. farming results in them getting a point plus chat toxicity.
On occasions, you would get insta-downed if injured or if it was a insta-down killer (eg Iridescent hatchet huntress) so you would've gotten a stack for basically nothing.

I worded it wrong. You won’t lirerally lose a stack you already have, just lose the one you got from that specific action if they got downed in 10 seconds.

@Jack11803 but what if you have 4 stack already? you cannot get 5 stacks...

I do see your concern, with this games spaghetti code, they may not be able to differentiate which stack was bad, and you could lose a good stack due to imperfect coding.

this however could be contradicted. if the game Tampered with the perk and made it to where there is a "Reserve" stack, then maybe... just MAYBE... this could be fully fledged

BBQ is a killer perk.
Killers only got 4 perks slot total, and usually cannot afford to use a "PURE BP perk slot".
Not to mention the utility of BBQ is made to make survivors not to get camped or tunneled. They actually tried to make WGLF to give more BP (200%) at the release. And I can tell one thing : it was hell of a ride to find a round as survivor back then.
Even myself, a former killer player, was playing full survivor when WGLF got released.
And even if, back then, BBQ wasn't a thing, buffing back WGLF to 200% would GREATLY destroy the appeal of playing killer, especially in the current meta.So : WGLF is just fine atm, and yes, killers tend to get more BP than survivors overall, but it's a fair price to pay not to have to deal with that balancing mess that the killer side is.

True. True.

The only buff that WGLF should get is to also get a token for healing a health state on another survivor.
2 -
The change that I would like to see: Unsafe unhooks shouldn't give stacks anymore. Some survs just use this perk to farm their mates.

@DudeDelicious I'd say keep the perks separated. No Mither should give bonus bloodpoints for being hard mode.
Btw, the old version of WGLF gave you up to 200% bonus bloodpoints.

It's actually not that hard to do. Only add a stack for a safe unhook event instead of the unhook event. Deliverence already works like that. There is no need to remove stacks.

One change I have in mind: secret stacks. What I mean by that? In theory, you could gain 200% BP but you need 4 normal stacks + 4 secret stacks. The secret stacks are only obtainable by doing a save rescue (you know those extra points you get after unhooking someone and he doesn't get downed).
Could change the mentality of some players who see that perk as WE R GONNA FARM FOREVER and less frustration in solo Q.
Buff for BP and QoL is going hand by hand here
