Freddy rework summary for returning player

I didn’t get much time with Freddy when he came out but as a survivor I found him almost impossible to beat most of the time unless the killer was very green. The quick summary the game just gave me seemed like a massive buff to that so I’m curious if a more experienced player can give me a before this issues he had and intention of the patch layman summary.

Edit: I never really saw him not being able to attack without the dream world as an issue as it’s so easy to put someone in it
