Playing Freddy on high rank

Tsulan
Tsulan Member Posts: 15,095

So i accepted a challenge to get to rank 1 using Freddy only. (btw 4 pips left)
And i´m surprised how much high rank survivors hate Freddy. People disconnecting left and right when i´m about to hook or kill them. Then screaming "get rekt noob" when the last one escapes through the hatch. (the dc guy screaming!)

I though survivors would appreciate a change on high ranks. Since so many complain that they see 90% Nurse and 10% Billy.
But survivors don´t seem to like it.

Freddy's not known to be fun to play against.

But toxic players will complain about anything, for any reason.

My last match. Survivors say dribbling is a cheat (glitch) and that i should enjoy my ban.

Nah dribblind is bannable and gentap is ok
Funny that dribbling was adressed by devs, but gentap works still very well

Freddy shreds, especially at low ranks. You must keep in consideration that you used NOED, Ebony Mori and the best Freddy add-ons though. Freddy is weak, and toxic survivors will ALWAYS complain. I can hunt BBQ all game, hook everyone 2 times... but patrol the last hook because the exit gate are open and they will still call me camper, even tough I walked full map away from every single hook. It's ridiculous.

I remember I played in a rank one match against a Freddy and I was like “oh boy easy game” but then as soon as the other 3 survivors (all Claudette’s) were downed they DC’d I was only able to get one gen because he had ruin and I was like great so Freddy found me and I gave him the chase of his life (to farm for boldness) he stopped and messaged me to get a gen done so I could escape. He felt bad since I stayed and the rest screwed me over. I told him hopefully we can have an actual match next time

But this isn´t low ranks. Those are rank 2 survivors!
It would make sense on rank 20. But not on rank 2. They all had SC.

Survivors get very salty when you dribble their DS and then they complain. Someone once said to me in post game chat "are you afraid of DS".

Nvm, I put on my thinking cap and assume it's dropping and picking up survivors, so they can't use DS. Not sure how or why that's bannable. It's just countering the perk.

They're probably angry that they lost to a Freddy so they're looking for excuses. Just don't pay them any attention.

Freddy is no fun to fight if you're a Survivor who likes Stealth like me, because you can't easily hide from him and once you're in the Dream World there is no hiding, just running. But that's no reason for RANK 2 Survivors to call you a cheater, lmao.

Did you just say "They all had Self Care" ??? Doesn't every survivor run Self Care?
You were using NOED, Ebony Mori and the best Freddy add-ons, so your "research" kinda thing is a bit shifted from the get go. You dont get to use that every single match. It's like using Nurse with 5 blinks for 1 game and showing how "broken" she is and uploading a screenshot how you 4 K'd with survivors having 5k points in total.

its dropping them every few feet so their DS doesnt go off while taking them to the hook

Trust me when I say, if anyone tries to stealth me as a Freddy, I will completely ######### them up.

It's probably the most frustrating thing about him and Nurse. They both have heavily restrictive counters to them. There are no other options to beat them, at least not reliably.

Dude I had this one game as freddy rank 7.

They gave me hell afterwards and there was a point I just started using my phone while they spammed up chat. Kinda entertaining, kinda sad they existed like that tho.

    You don't need it honestly.

The only thing it's good for is tracking. Freddy is already superior in that department.

You camped by being on the same map as them. They bought generator simulator 2016, not this. : (

Self Care is the best weapon against Freddy. Since they could wake up.
The purple add-on gives me 0.5 seconds of faster dreamworld transition in comparison with the yellow one (the yellow one has the drawback of a higher skill check chance).
    I wouldn't call those add-ons op.

A few days ago a survivor main complained on the forum (don't remember if steam or this one), that whilst survivors use insta heals, BNP and odd bulb. The killers rarely use everything at their disposal. I'm using everything. Moris exactly to counter last second switch or to get rid of DS users.

I used M&A between rank 11 and 7. It's great for hit and run attacks. Especially in combination with the skill check chance reducing add-ons (skirts).
Hit them, then go search someone else. They'll move somewhere safe and start healing. That's the moment to attack.

Anytime I use NOED on Freddy it either never procs or is destroyed in 15 seconds after the gates are powered.

He can be stealthed, it's really hard but it can be done. Freddy can't see ######### in dream world, so you can actually hide in spots you couldn't normally from other killers. Anywhere really dark, literally the edge of the map (bc Freddy has to be like 12m from the wall to see it clearly). You have to know where he is though which is the really tricky part. I usually just think to myself "If I was just over there what path would I take to get to here?" then just kinda assume that direction is "unsafe" and go in the opposite direction. It works most of the time. If he ever is not chasing you, then you should just run to a gen and try to wake up, and as soon as you do leave (unless you know he won't be coming to you, ie. he is chasing someone else).

You have to keep in mind that when you are awake you are a lot harder to see. It's like putting darkest moonlight and purple fog together on every killer, with added blur and particle effects. If you never played a game with the moonlight offerings go try a KYF game. You will get a much better idea of how to hide from Freddy when awake.

I agree. He's the easiest killer to stealth before he found you. I've lost countless survivors, when 2 worked a gen and I transitioned 1 often I wouldn't find the second one. Simply because they were not running but hiding really well.

Freddy doesn't need to see awake survivors to put them to sleep.

He can just hold down his power to find you. Nancy's Masterpiece is my favorite add-on because of this. His vision is only that bad in the dream world if the survivors bring fog offerings. Its fine as a base and killers can get easily used to it. Hell I did.

There's also the matter of not knowing which direction Freddy is coming from until he's right on top of you, which makes stealth against him much more obsolete.

Survivors got used to unhook right under his nose. Because of the long transition time. 7 seconds is half a BT. Which also triggers if Freddy was close. He's not really good at camping, since he can't interrupt the unhooking unless the other survivor is already sleeping.
I don't find his red add-ons good. 1 deletes your terror radius, but you are way slower (not like looping was the meta) and the other one let's one survivor start in the dreamworld (wow...)

This is true. Black Box + Dying Light + green/pink mori + Ruin = Full gen lockdown. Throw on Thanatophobia, Pop Goes the Weasel, and Class Photo for good measure. Very costly, but probably unbeatable build. The only thing that can ruin your day is a shroud or just them spawning close together at the start. But as long as DL is dead before Ruin is gone the game is yours.

To be honest, I run Solo Survivor, OoO, BT, and WGLF. It's a great build against Freddy because if your in the dream realm with 3 tokens on Solo Survivor, it literally throws him off for a good 5 minutes as he thinks your in his terror radius. Now I can see you without you seeing me and I get the benefit of watching the poor thing struggle to find me while I technically infinite him.

    EDIT typo

I’m a survivor main and it’s not a cheat because if you drop too many times we break free anyway, DS is a crutch perk or a troll perk. One may use it because they know they get caught more than others and one may use it as a troll tactic just to have a free getaway after wasting time for so long. I recommend not to even run it anymore unless you want to be camped with an insidious Leatherface or  infinite tier 3 Myers etc.. chances are if you’re the obsession and being toxic or going out of your way to bully the killer than your first hook may very well be your last, along with running into that killer in the future and getting camped because you were an ######### last time they saw you, I guess either of the above about sums it up.
