Anybody know why the Benedict Baker quotes stopped being written?
In every chapter Benedict Baker (on of the few non-playable characters) used to give a little section about the new killer, new survivor, and new map. He stopped around the Darkness Amongst Us chapter. Is there a reason, like did Behavior kill him off, or is he stuck somewhere...? Will he be the one to find the Archives...?
I just like reading his input on other survivors, because it tells us what they're like more than any interaction you have in game. It's fascinating to see his take on the different killers, because he tells us that the clown like survivors to be unaware, or that the Pig will give second chances if she wants to... little things like that go a long way. I know it's nothing to most people, but he's one of the few side characters that matter, since he has a quote in almost everything you need to know.

I believe it was right after the Hallowed Blight event.

I doubt if Baker had anything to do with the Hallowed Blight. The entries stopped before the Shattered Bloodline Chapter, as Rin and Adam didn't get proper quote either.

Baker was not involved with Blight. I think that was Vigo. Since Dwight's cosmetic set was Vigo's Assistant.

Yeah, but I'm just wondering what happened to the guy to stop writing...

Didn't something in one of entrys say that the Entity took him, it's been awhile sense I've read the entrys. Also, isn't the character from the HB cinematics still a mystery because I thought Vigo was heavily speculated to be female?

I'm genuinely upset we don't get those entries anymore. Honestly, they were a bit cheesy and awkwardly written at times, but they were also charming and added a much needed additional layer of characterization to the Survivors.

I always heard of him being a guy. That may be up to interpretation, however, since there is no proof of either in the game at this moment.
However, in the Blighted event, Vigo was basically revealed. He was hooded, but spoke about his experience with the Blight event and partially describing himself in the lore entries with it. Rumor is that he's a future killer since he's done his experiments, but only time will tell.

Not just survivors, but killers too, since he shows us their true character: Huntress is looking for something in the fog, Clown prefers his targets to be unaware, stuff like that. He also describes the maps for each chapter, which even gave them some character. It was nice.

The Devs just got lazy, but they can put more entries at any time.
As for Vigo, he wasn't present during the Hallowed Blight, the mystery writer during the event said they had found the lab like that, meaning there was no way Vigo had been present during that time.

And in case any of y'all wanna say I'm wrong:
Undeniable proof for my case for Vigo.

As it was so long ago, I guess I was wrong about Vigo, but I still don't think that they're correct about the writer being Benedict. That style feels very different to what we know.

I don't know, some of that feels very BB language, not to mention the lore stamps state that he is looking for Vigo. Still, I would like to see him making a comeback for Stranger Things, to react to a genuine monster.

I don't know if he was the guy in Hallowed blight. If he is, then he's already seen a killer we haven't with mechanics I'd like to see.

Yeah, I was wondering about 'the man with the metal jaws' too.
0 -
I first I thought that was a reference to Jaws, the guy from Bond film Moonraker, who has metal teeth, but biting through walls seems a bit much even for him.

Honestly, sense BB has been in the Entity's realm for so long, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's come across a couple of legit monsters during his time. That being said I completely agree with you, I'd love for his return to be with the Stranger Things chapter.

He probably wasn't able to write any more entries because he was starting to become part of the entity and become a killer for her.

I think that may have been more a reference to a killer that was scrapped I think the power was called Collapse or something I'm not sure but he could destroy terrain. The devs deemed him too powerful though.

I have the feeling its due to the upcoming Archives
0 -
Probably. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the archivist.

I realize that. My previous comment was a joke. XD

He was searching for Vigo last, so he may have been too busy to write them. Your hypothesis could be true as well, though.

It's most likely he was taken by the entity once and for all, whether cast to the void or fully consumed. His last "official" quote was him obviously going mad, and requesting to whoever found his body to bury him. So it can be presumed any character without a quote came after Benedict.

"He was searching for Vigo last, so he may have been too busy to write them. Your hypothesis could be true as well, though."
I believe this is the answer to my question: that's he's too busy searching for Vigo to leave any more quotes for us. I think he'll be the archivist, if he comes back at all in the near future. You could be right though, since his fate is left open ended.

It could be laziness. And 80% of the community wouldn't be surprised if that were the reason. But due to it disappearing right after the hallowed blight event (A lore event that had a lot to do with the man who wrote those and another person.) Many are led to believe the disappeared for a reason. But maybe they will resurface when the Archives show up.

His power will be replacing the survivors' offerings with salty lips.

Well we did learn that in the last entry from the Hallowed Blight event that The Entity supposedly found him. If that's the case, then maybe he's being tortured into becoming a killer one day because he was one of the few people to attempt to dissect the story behind The Entity and it's realms. In short, Benedict Baker could have learned something that he shouldn't have and because of that, The Entity finally took him.

there's two real mystery characters in dead by daylight's lore, and those are vigo and benedict baker. of course, there's always a chance the mystery figure in the hallowed blight cinematics is just that.
as for benedict's journals cutting off, it's not like that really matters. we know that his entries are out of order and the lore is all wibbly wobbly because of how time works in the entity's realm (hint: it doesn't).

vigo is referred to as a guy on the wiki and i swear i can remember the developers just blatantly saying vigo was a guy in a developer stream.

Last time we heared from Baker in the most recent entry of his we saw. He was in a very hopeless state of mind. I think he finally lost the game and was ethire given to the void or has become a killer we dont know of
