Remove keys from trial chests. RNG is not how you make a game challenging and rewarding.
Survivors bringing keys in is fun. The killer can try play at preventing early hatch escapes. Having a survivor team escape because they got lucky is silly.
Just had a fun match spoiled by this for the 1000th time.

You do realise how rare it is to find a dull or skeleton key in a trial chest?
Quit being so dramatic and accept that they got the 1 out of 100 in getting a key out of a chest

It's much higher then 1% since the chest rework.
Even if it was 1% the point remains the same. Any serious game is skill based not luck based. Should the killer get a 1%chance for every survivor to just be automatically sacrificed each trial?

Use 1 perk and you get 40% a hatch key.

You can't compare a key to a sacrifice, every single game has luck involved with RNG, it is extremely rare to get a key so the survivor deserves to open the hatch if they were lucky enough to find one.

It's probably an exaggeration but I have played 1000s of hours. Enough to have every t3 perk on every killer and survivor at p3 (Equivelent to p6 or so)?
Definitely 500+ I'd say anyways

Just an Example:
No perks or something.
They just found the key in a random chest.
In my experience, keys arent rare or something.
With plunderer, you could farm many keys in some hours.

ofc But most likely in the forum you wll see killer complaining about a tone of #########. This game is balance to get 2 escape and 2 death not 4k, for me as killer 90% of my game I let someone escape

Okay, if keys aren't allowed then lets get rid of Reverse Bear Traps because of it's RNG. And let's get rid of the chance to get out of bear traps and make it one big channel. Let's get rid of skill checks because of RNG. This could go on with almost anything in the game. Everything in it is RNG, down to every spawn.

That's funny cause even when I use plunderer's I still kept always getting brown toolboxes and medkits, I don't usually run the perk so 🤷♂️

But the survivors don't deserve to escape if luck is on their side and they find a key even though then it's still not guaranteed that they will escape.

That is what the whole thread is about. Both finding keys and RBT's revolve around RNG so technically it does have something to do with what you said.
If RBT's RNG is fine then the RNG of keys is fine

Those are different kinds of variance, though. With RBTs, it's picking the right box that will guarantee the key. You can brute force it by just searching all the boxes to inevitably get what you want. With chests, it's opening a chest and hoping the random number generator gives you the right item. There is no brute forcing. You either get lucky with the key or you don't.

After running plunderers for three weeks straight, I can testify that I've found more brown toolboxes, broken keys, and brown medkits, than Dull or Skeleton keys

IIRC, the reason that we’re seeing so many keys is because the devs kept the increased high rarity item drop rates for the bloodweb and chests from the last winter event for Survivors. They didn’t keep the improved bloodwebs for Killers though. I think that we should get the improved Killer bloodwebs back to help deal with the insane amount of keys or just remove them from chests completely. I wouldn’t be surprised if the only reason that keys and chests have been like this for so long is because Survivors like it.

It isn't difficult to search 4 jigsaw boxes in 2,5 minutes. Killing isn't what the RBTs were designed to do either and the only reason they have to kill at some point is to make sure the survivors search the boxes instead of doing generators.
Unless the pig constantly follows you or blocks your last jigsaw box, you're not gonna die to an RBT.

Why not just remove keys? And toolboxes? In three weeks the devs will prob be announcing killer vs killer mode since so few people play survivor.
Stranger things will bring a huge influx of players probably... Most who will play killer and help those killer que times go up even more. 😂

But that wouldn't happen though would it?
Gaining a key isn't a guaranteed escape, you still have to find the hatch and are still vulnerable to the killer, simply kill the survivor with the key...
It's not rocket science
