Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is it time to unlock trash teachables?

I have abandoned leveling up certain survivors because I did not want to pollute other survivors bloodwebs with bad perks. Ace's perks are all terrible so he's stuck at level 35 (because the only perks I can pick are both teachable). Quentin is stuck at level 40 because he had one perk I liked and two that I didn't, so now I cannot level him up without picking unlocking a bad teachable.

Did anyone else use this strategy? Will you start unlocking these teachables once the bloodweb gives you more options?

No, useless or not I still use perks for interesting builds like Vigil Pharmacy Ace in the Hole and Balanced Landing. It all comes down to the question of, why you bought them knowing the Shrine exists?

I always unlock all teachables when they pop up, whether I think ill ever use them or not. I tend to try to customize different loadouts on my killers to work well with their powers. Just because I dont see potential NOW, doesnt mean a "useless" perk wont combo well with a future perk or killer's power. Plus, perk buffs and reworks DO happen. Surveillance use to be complete trash, but now its actually pretty nice.

For Freddy and Hag, BACK IN MY DAY there was no auric cell option to buy characters.

(also need them to be an achievement [BAD WORD])

I was around before then too, purchased every dlc that has came out even Darkness Among Us. Still would've used the shrine had I known some perks would be nerfed.

Do you want to prestige every Survivor? And even unlock all Perks on them? If yes, get the Teachables. If you play only one Character, I would not bother.

But yeah, my way of Grinding will not change with the Bloodweb-Change. I have all Teachables for Survivors, but I did it in a very bad way, because I first brought every Survivor to level 40 to get the Teachables, resulting in so many Bloodwebs with useless Perks. I will not do the same for Killers, I will also P3-50 all Killers, so I just went for a few Killers. And once I have all Perks on them that I have currently unlogged, I will start Grinding other Killers. E.g. I have not bothered to play Doc at all, I just have Monitor from the Shrine. And I will only start to level up Doc, if I get the Killers where I already got the teachables to P3-50 with the Perks I want on them so that I dont end up with 3 Tiers of Overcharge and Overwhelming Presence coming up in the Bloodwebs, just increasing my grind.

The Bloodweb Change will speed it up for me to get all Perks on my P3-50 killers, but it will not change my way of avoiding Teachables at the moment.

I avoid teachables I don't want. When 2 teachables appear you'll find them ever until lvl 50 sadly.

@Unit - Buying DLC gives it to all users of the system and supports the devs. So If I buy the Stranger Things DLC, Mrs JawsIsTheNextKiller gets it too, I can play the new killer, and she can play the new survivors. Its better value for us than both of us spending shards that we'd rather spend on cosmetics.

I'll probably unlock Trash perks for the survivors I like (such as Jeff) and leave the ones I will only play for dailies (such as Quentin)
