Hook Mashing Struggle

Alright, initially, I liked mashing the "A" button to struggle. It's something I've been good at doing since I was a kid. The problem is that it doesn't always work. Many times now, enough for me to get fed up and post about it, I've been sacrificed with plenty of time left because the game just didn't register my struggling. Like, I was mashing the "A" button, had more than a quarter left on the timer, then just died for no reason. Can't this be made into a skill check or something? Something that poor host connection can't just make pointless by dying immediately while you are very clearly struggling still. The system currently being used is not user friendly, and works way less than it should.

You are not the only one that feels this way. The majority of the player base agrees that the current struggle phase is problematic for a variety of reason, myself included, and there have been countless threads created about this exact issue and potential solutions.

The easiest and most simple solution would be to change the button mash to a button hold. Nothing changes gameplay wise as you can still let go to give up, while also making it far more accessible. This alone would solve practically every single complaint about the struggle phase, while also keeping it “interactive”. At the very least just give players the option to change it in the settings.

I really don’t know how many times we need to have this conversation before the devs finally listen and do something about it, but I will continue being vocal about it until they do.

Yeah, I can see just holding a button. I would even say that a skill check would be better. Given the idea that more blood points be given if you succeed said checks. I've just had so many cases where I was sacrificed because my finger slipped or even that I was mashing the button, but the game didn't receive the input for lag reasons, or whatever, and I died immediately as that phase started with others running to unhook me.
