Instadown killers with NOED
Serious question, but why does someone like Myers or Ghostface bring NOED into the game when they can obviously instadown while stalking? What’s the point of it?

Security.

It isn’t expected

random perk challenges, lack of confidence, specifically so they can see posts like these on the forums and giggle to themselves.

To irk survivor mains.

Survivors don’t expect it

I'm not very good at marking and downing Survivors with GhostFace. So I bring NOED (sometimes).

Nobody expects the myers that brings all insta down perks.

It can be used for an element of surprise like others are saying.

When the baby meg next to you cleanses Haunted Grounds and the killer is Scratched Mirror Michael on Lery's

Cause your expecting them to use their one shot ability which usually gives a warning or telegraph that its about to happen. Then BAM! A regular attack puts you down.

I will slap it on Billy even I mostly do it as a joke

But its not funny?

There is no time to stalk at the endgame. It takes like 5-6 seconds to stalk someone with ghostface (leaning from a tree, which might not be near the exit gate) and only 20 seconds to open the gate. If 2-3 survivors are still alive there's no time to stalk them all to exposed as well as protect the gates.

How not? The only real thing I get out of it is a movement speed increase what's even better is using Noed on infinite tier 3

Its called getting memed on young one.

From my experience they do it because they aren’t good.
They will chase someone through 5 gens, and use No Ed as their last resort after not successfully catching a survivor.

If I have 4 survivors when NOED pops I played wrong
But if it helps.me get that last survivor (or even better: the last two because the second one insists on rescuing after gates pop), then survivors played wrong.
Sounds like a solid risk/reward.
(In red ranks it's bigger risk...I almost never take it because it is cleansed in a blink)

Try slugging with deer stalker and leaving the survivors on the ground... that irks them too

With Ghostface, I would never call his power reliable. One slip and you're on a cooldown long enough for both gates to be opened.
With Myers, survivors will almost always go for saves right after they hear the tier down music. If you're also packing noed that can let you punish some riskier attempts in the end game as it's especially unexpected on him.
In both cases it adds speed and a security blanket in the end game.

NOED you just bring when you alredy EXPECT to lose (i.e. at least one survivor will escape). Good killer (red ranks) will instead choose a wiser perk to help in early-mid game to not even come in this situation!!
But when you play this game long enough you will figure that out yourself (probably) (eventually) (hopefully).

Every killer with an instant down has requirements that prevent them from spamming it.
Myers and Ghostface have to stalk, Billy and Bubba have to deal with chainsaw mechanics. NOED lets you drop anyone with a tap on the head. No charging, no waiting, no cooldown.
Plus, groups will often panic and try to cleanse it after it's become active. So not only are you creating pressure points whenever you hook someone with NOED, the totem itself serves as a distraction.
Anything that keeps survivors from those exit gates is a good thing. They should be in the basement, where they belong.

I don't laugh when i see Noed on a tier myers, cause there is nothing funny about it on my end. Like someone using No mither and SC. All I get out of that is "oh cool" or K

Lol. 1 survivor escaping isn't a loss. A 3K is still a win, 4K is a crushing victory. A 2K is a draw, 1K a loss, 0K a humiliating defeat.
I've been playing at red ranks for years and still use NOED; on pretty much every killer. Half the time I get hate from people for using it when they died before the last gen was done anyways. The same people who complain about it will all be running adrenaline, DS, BT, and then either dead hard or balanced landing. Literally every crutch in the book but when the killer uses an overpowered perk oh my god so bad dude!
I think it's a great insurance policy. Sure, never getting to the endgame sounds great. But then you finish loading into the map and it's blood lodge with some bad RNG and the survivors have like 15+ safe, unmindgameable pallets to work with and you are playing a loopable killer. Oh, and all those medkits you saw in the lobby? They turn out to be instaheals. That's when you will be happy you have NOED.

I do it.. because I can.

You mentioned Michael and Ghostface. I thought this post was gonna be about Billy and Leatherface.
When I see Billy's with NOED, it just makes me go.............. -_- really?
1 -
Ah that's what you meant I thought you were one of those people who are like "no matter who Noed is on it is a bad perk"

I honestly feel it's their insecurity about their ability to win. The ones who run NOED are commonly the ones who get run around for 5 gens.
2 -
Waste of a perk slot on killers who already have built in insta down.
1 -
Why does everyone think just because they have an instadown you will be able to pull it off in time at the endgame? For myers they might already be out of juice, and for ghostface you could just get broken out or if there is not an object to stare out from behind it will take like 10 seconds to stalk someone to exposed.
Say you are running around in the middle of the map, 3 survivors are left, maybe 2 on deadhook, and the last gen pops. By the time you even get to an exit gate, if you pick the right one, it could be to 50-75% or greater. Having NOED vs. not would be the difference between instantly downing that survivor and killing them; moving on to kill more....or going on another chase, potentially to a slew of safe pallets.
NOED is a no-brainer to me. Completely worth it's slot, even on insta down killers.

They just know that they suck with the ability. So they need a perk to compensate and carry them.
1 -
Because nobody expects it. And thus doesnt worry about dull totems.
"Ahhh meyers you cant stalk me to 3 anymore you already got me hahaha-"
*NOED hit*

Because their other perks are ######### due to them still leveling the Killer?
That's why I run NOED on my Wraith. I don't play Wraith so I haven't really leveled him that much. So when I do play as him NOED is one of the few good perks I have on him so why not.

NOED Billy is one of the best Billys to play.
1 -
They don't expect it. But I still break my totems because for me, most of the people that I play against that have Insta down abilities are usually pretty bad.

The only time I use NOED nowadays is with speed limiter. It's funny to have a weak chainsaw and then it suddenly insta-downs when the last gen is popped.
EDIT: And with BK Myers. Because sometimes I still want points even if I'm memeing.
