Sad news for dying light
It appears the devs want to see how it does for a few "weeks" before deciding whether to buff the numbers a bit..this is sad as I really love this perk idea..it rewards good gameplay and skill with the killer..same as why I love thana for the same reason..I see dying light as a potential more consistent ruin alternative for experianced players , but for it to compete it really needs a small boost and maybe a bit less drawback..but I fear we won't see that for a long time as..previous instances like these have shown it

I can see why they are scared to buff the numbers, but what I don't get it why you are punished for keeping the Obsession alive AND punished for killing them.
13 -
Since when were you punished for killing them? Unless you are running other perks like STBFL
0 -
Killing the Obsession completely turns off the new Dying Light.
9 -
If you kill the Obsession, Dying Light stops working.
0 -
So the perk is literally a hinderence with no positives?
1 -
I mean, it has positives. It's just that giving the Obsession a boost and making them immune to the penalties creates this weird contradiction where the Obsession is the strongest Survivor (barring player skill) and thus the one you want to take out first while also the reason your perk does anything and thus the person you want to take out last.

And? My problem is it takes ages to stack up and empowers the one player who's likely to live longest
0 -
Yeah...plus the effort to make the perk good is massive
1 -
Pretty sure the main reason for that is because of how effective it could be with Thana. Alone though it will probably not be very useful, which is a shame. I would personally love to see a buff to Dying Light rework, and even Thana, but that will only be possible if they made these perks not stack any more or if there was some kind of max action speed debuff cap, like 25% or so. Which I think would be fine if that meant we could use these perks seperately and have them actually be effective on their own.

Basically. You need 8 hooks just to get 24% reduction as apposed to just hooking the obsession until death with 3 hooks for 25%. All while the obsession is on steroids.
Can you say NERF?
1 -
And at that point the action speed debuff doesn't even affect the match even more, since two survivors are dead. They should really buff the values, but they can't as long as Dying Light stacks with Thana.

Simple Solution: Sloppy, Thanatopobia, Dying Light, and any other slow down perks that impacts progress bars no longer stacks together.
After this is implemented, buff the numbers for all perks (Exception: Sloppy Butcher).
Dying Light could have 3%/4%/5% and the Obsession gets a 25% boost instead of whatever it's at now.
Thanatopobia gives 5% up to 12%/16%/20%, and has a secondary effect when everyone is injured.
Just spitballing some ideas, so this isn't perfect! :)

Wait where did they say this DL change was possibly temporary? We almost got an amazing Thana until they changed it, is this happening again?
0 -
Even if you manage to get maximum token most survivors are already dead anyway while obsession doesn't affect the debuff AND somehow obsession get healing buff for no reason AND you can't kill obsession otherwise you waste your one perk
What's the point of this perk anymore...

If they dont nerf it's debuff for actions and as long as it stacks with thana then i think i'll keep using it once it's added to the real game.
But since i've been playing since 2016 my guess is theyll most likely nerf it or wont allow it to stack. (the devs so do love to make the game stale INSTEAD OF BUFFING OR CHANGING PERKS TO SHAKE UP THE META)

I was stacking dying light with thano as old freddy. I'd tunnel, and camp the obsession. 4 gens would be done, but it didn't matter. I was getting more than 80% gen speed reduction. 50% for sleeping survivors. 25% dying light, and 3 injured survivors for thano. And of course I had sloppy butcher. God I miss old freddy.
I think 5% instead of 3% without the obsession penalties on the killer would be just fine. 5 hooks for 25% is perfectly reasonable, and still a nerf compared to the old 3 hook tunnel dependent dying light for 25%. And yes; I think thano would be ok with this. you can heal to counter after all.
1 -
Why can't they just raise the amount you get per token and have the tokens cap at 4 or 5?
Or why can't Sloppy Butcher, Than and DL affect different things? Sloppy obviously for healing. DL for gens. And Than for other action speeds (vaulting, unhooking, totems, sabo) where, instead of a certain % per survivor, it decreases action speed 15/20/25% or something when that survivor is injured?

I'd want a stack and a better cap would be like 35-50 since itd be nearly impossible to pull off anyway
0 -
I'd rather not see thana be worse -_-

I hope your wrong...very wrong

All I want is a debuff to the obsession they can keep the obsession not giving stacks

This is a gigantic nerf, instead of stacking the perks you made it so that these are useless this would be the same as making it so that adrenaline, botany knowledge and any other healing perk/medkits wound not work while in the terror radius of the killer, it makes no sense, also this is a huge nerf to sloppy and thana making anti heal perks terrible.
Tl:Dr just leave the perks be, what you suggest would enforce the pallet eater/nurse spirt meta even more.

Exactly, if I know the killer doesn't want to kill me because it will nullify a perk then I am going to play extra ballsy. I hate perks that punish you for doing your main objective. It would be like a survivor perk that grants you faster action speeds for healing and vaulting but you lose the perk if you do "X" to a gen.

This ^

I said after the nerf, they BUFF the perks to compensate. Here's my comment, take a look at the second paragraph! :)

the devs cant risk another survivor ######### storm. they afraid of it to happen again. one dev already said that they are really carefull with stuff that slows down the game because survivors dont like that. so good stuff for killers will only be half-assed. guess we need to get used to it.
1 -
Survivors are not going to want to play matches where their action speed is decreased by up to 50%. Devs won't do that, and that's understandable. It wouldn't be fun to go against.
0 -
Them waiting to buff or nerf is the right thing to do.
If they let it hit live, and after 2 days of people bitching one way or another about it and used just that info, it wouldnt get balanced correctly, just by the majority voice. Which may simply make it worse.
Waiting a few weeks before making LIVE changes other than balancing reasons (GF reveal zone, bugged perks like wake up) is what they should always do.

Hello? New Freddy? Literally EVERY freddy runs the action speed reduction perks, ruin, and pop. Maybe throw in thana or dying light on top of that and it's insane.
Why would it be outrageous to have a perk do it when there's killers with dying light built-in from when you spawn?
New dying light sounds like trash, and the old dying light was basically only useful with a mori. I don't even know why it's being nerfed.
1 -
I don't use that perk to begin with but it looks like I'm not about to start now
0 -
Op af for plague, thanato dying light ruin pop.. a new meta is coming guys..
0 -
But being killed isn't fun for Survivors!
0 -
I mean the devs have made it pretty clear that their priorities are for the survivors. What can we do when our perks get nerfed into oblivion but we're still expected to deal with insta-heals, SWF, busted matchmaking, and ######### Ruin spawns?
3 -
You don't like survivors being the power role? Next thing your going to tell me is you don't like 3 gens popping in 2 minutes while ruin is up
0 -
You know what else isnt fun? Gens getting done in 10 seconds, matches lasting 3-5 minutes..now THAT is not fun
0 -
If your matches only last five minutes on average then you need to improve/the survivors need to improve (based on who’s winning) also gens (as in multiple) being done in ten seconds is impossible.
0 -
Actually your wrong..within 30 seconds its possible to have two gens done..I saw how it's done and its absurd..and while it's not how all my games go itll be more common in the coming days
