Is this a bug? I'm new to this.
I brought a pink map and got hooked, but after I got unhooked with 2 people by me, one of them had taken it and wouldn't give it back. I know your item can be picked up off the ground after dying, but after one hook for it to just be out of my hand like that?

No, its not a bug.
I'm guessing it was Franklins demise (a Killer perk) that caused it to drop out of your hands when you got downed and hooked.
I say this isn't a bug because I've never heard anyone had this issue at all (past and present), so it has to be Franklins demise, since that perk is the only way to force an item out of a Survivors hands.
Rainbow maps are pretty common now anyways with Plunderers Instinct, so its not that hard to get another one anyways. I don't even want them, and they keep showing up all the time when I go item hunting.
