Herbert West not licensed
Just found out recently that The Re-Animator and Herbert West are not copyrighted. It was published before modern copyright law and has remained public domain ever since the author died. Huh, the more you know.

But they made 3 movies with Herbert, the last one being in 2003, the film studio must at least have them.
Herbert West would be an interesting Killer tbh, he isn't a malicious evil person, just obsessed with his work.

The film studio has the rights to the film only and likenesses. But they don't have rights to any of the characters involved created by H.P. Lovecraft. So for example, Herbert West and The Re-Animator. They will always remain public domain since the author died before the introduction of the modern copyright law.
I would like him more as a survivor to tell you the truth.
