I know that in a Q&A somewhere, MCotes explained why DBD doesn't have really violent/gorey moris. But I can't find the quote. Can anyone help me out?

I recall the devs saying that it was because decapitation would lead them to get banned from various countries, but F13 wasn't banned from any country that DBD is for sale in.

    The ban issue is just a cover (even tho it's a legit cover) for a lack of characters modeling skill required for having severed heads, or like bodies split after Billy's mori.
