Why use inner strength when you have self-care ?

Self-care:

Heals faster

It has synergy with med-kits

Can be used anytime and anywhere

Inner strength:

Is RNG, sometimes u don't find any totems or others have cleansed them

Total heal time is way longer on average

Relies on another perk to reliably find totems (Small game)

Needs to cleanse a totem of which there are not that many in a map (finite resource)

So, why ?

Inner Strength plus Decisive is very overpowered. The Killer can either take the DS stun or leave you and you get healed.

More like why run Self Care when you have Inner Strength.

Self Care has been a crap perk for a while now, even if it's still meta and used by 99% of survivors.

At least with Self Care you're more productive while trying to heal by helping your team avoid Noed.

Also if you can't find totems without Small Game (or Detective's hunch) and can't be bothered to bank breaking a totem at the start of the game.... you need to git gud.

And if you're bringing a medkit... why are you bothering with SelfCare? If you want to boost heal speed of the med kit Botany Knowledge is much better.

Or he can take the DS Stun after Healing so that the Heal was wasted. Or he does not go after the Unhooked Person in the first place, but I guess this is too much these days.

    @Topic:

I would rather use Inner Strength than Self Care. But there is always a "risk" that no Totem can be found. Or other Survivors already cleansed it.

You can't find a totem without Small Game?

In what world in the Entity’s realm does self care heal faster than inner strength? 8 seconds is way faster than the 30+ seconds you spend with self care. If you want to say that you waste time doing totems, then the same thing can be said about SC. With SC you waste time positioning yourself safely, healing, and not doing objectives. With IS you just have to clear at least one totem early game (half the time you spawn next to one) and you already have a fast heal ready for later in the game. Yes you could say you waste time doing that as well, but it’s way less than SC. Also with IS you are contributing to the objective in some way at least. The killer could potentially have NOED, so clearing totems helps the team. Also, most killers at high rank run Ruin all the time. IS rewards you for getting rid of that.

Basically SC doesn’t contribute to the team at all and slows the game down for the killer. IS also slows the game down slightly, but is way faster and in some way contributes to the team at least. Inner strength may not be meta due the no heal meta gen rush still being the strongest meta, but it is leagues ahead of SC. That perk got killed long ago with the healing nerf, it was arguably dead before it.

I look at that combo as a win-win. If the killer leaves, then I get a free heal and get to go on with my game. If they grab me out, sure they might have wasted my heal if they waited long enough, but that also still grants me an escape and wastes their time a little. It basically guarantees the god mode. Also if the killer chooses to keep tunneling, that’s even more time they’re wasting but that’s just DS on its own.

DS and IS theirselves and other perks of its nature don’t even get to be used in matches all the time. Just cause it’s not used doesn’t mean it’s a waste of a slot. Those perks guarantee that the killer can’t do a certain action to you. Also if they waste my heal I still did the totem so if they do have NOED or if it was a Hex that I cleansed then that’s still progress made.

You're comparing the 8 seconds vs 30 seconds it takes to heal

Not total time it takes to:

    Find a totem

    Find a locker

    Get healed

Total time used is way longer then just 8 seconds to complete a heal.

It's the devs telling Survivors it's just generally a good idea to cleanse Totems, Dull or Hex.

Loads of BP, possibly preventing a certain Hex Perk & now you can profit mechanically from Dull ones as well.

Read my comment again damn it. I went over much more than that. Lockers are virtually everywhere and totems aren’t hard to find or get to at all considering you spawn next to them half the time too. IS contributes towards your team while SC does not. SC still has the same issue of wasting time positioning, completing the long heal, and potentially being interrupted in that time, especially if they have Nurse’s calling. Something I also forgot to mention.. IS isn’t affected by things like Thanataphobia or Sloppy Butcher at all. SC becomes a huge waste if the killer does happen to run an anti heal build.

Self care is a great beginner perk with little strategy to it. Inner strength gives some map advantages and encourages side objective play to slow the game down in another way. Would still love real side objectives!

Why would any of you guys use these perks when Pharmacy exists?

Seriously, you search chests faster, get a guaranteed med-kit which could be green or purple tier.

Which you can use to heal your friends too. Seriously just bring Pharmacy

Why use a self healing perk when you could bring a medkit?

Why bring a med-kit when you can get one for free everytime?

Seriously Pharmacy is without a doubt the best self-healing perk in the game and one that isn't self-ish either

Because it takes a perkslot and the time it takes to find a chest and the time it takes to open the chest and you can't bring addons.
