New to the game and have a few questions
![minehot](https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/avatarstock/nH9EJI11RA541.png)
I started playing the game since yesterday and some questions occur.
Why are you in down state when killers pick you from lockers or generators, and when they put you on the ground for some reason you still need help from someone to recover?
How can I counter Nurse when she goes through everything and ignores my defense?
Why is it taking so long for hooks to be taken down?
Someone said in chat that I was camping when I hooked someone and I did not, despite that they said that I am reported, Is it really reportable?

- game mechanic. The killer is considered to have bested you, so you go to the downed state
- block line of sight, try to be unpredictable. Try watching people playing against nurses on youtube. She's the hardest killer to lose, but you can do it.
- sabotage? Because if it was fast, someone could create a deadzone in minutes. A team of 4, seconds.
- no. Camping is considered fair game by the developers. Don't worry about salt
Edit: btw, welcome! Hope you are enjoying yourself ^^

Hey 👋🏻! Glad you joined.
You are “dying” because the killer grabbed you. He is entitled to the hooking and needs to he able to drop you if another survivor pesters him (without you running away). Maybe he shived you while grabbing?
Counter nurse by running out of her sight so that she cannot see you (she is slow and needs to guess where you are). Open spaces are your enemy! You can also try the stealth route.
Hook sabotage time is not something I know about, but you don’t have to do it all at once. The progress stays, meaning you can 99% a hook and tap it to have it break front of the killer.
Camping is not reportable. It’s a legit playstyle (but most often not an effective one). Tunneling is not reportable either. Reporting without legit reason is though.
happy hunting!

- I'd imagine the killer's grip is enough to hurt you considering how strong they are. Also because it's a game and not much makes sense.
- Try to move unpredictably and break line of sight.
- I don't understand what you mean. If you are talking about sabotaging hooks you can use a tool box with add-ons to help increase the speed of the sabo.
- Camping is not reportable :)

Nurse needs to guess where you're going, if you're going towards a window and she sees that then she'll go there, so instead go for the window and wait for her to make that 'whooo'' sound then double back and run in a different direction. Trick her into thinking the opposite of what you want to do. Or just sneak around.
Camping is not reportable, it is a valid strategy but beware if you are within 16 meters of the hook you will LOSE POINTS unless another Survivor is there with you trying to make a save.
Never feel shamed for patrolling near the hook but don't make it a habit as sticking close and not patrolling for Gens will make you lose 100% of the time.
Since you just started that means you don't have all the perks, this video will guide you with what beginner perks to use with every Killer and a general strategy. There was also a Beginner's contest guide recently with videos and tips, not sure where they are but they're here somewhere.
If you ever need Freddy or Pig tips just @ me, I'm also a Basement Dweller as I am an expert on the Basement. If you want really good tips on Pig there are other better players out there who main her as I rotate a few select Killers.

Welcome!
Just to be totally clear: camping is not an actionable offense. Many consider it rude, but it's totally acceptable.
It's not efficient against smart Survivors. If they're smart, they go do gens, and escape leaving you with one lousy kill. But if they go crazy trying to get the rescue, it's the smart play.

Glad you decided to give this game a go. I myself absolutely hated it when my daughter first introduced me to it. But now i have my own copy so i don't have to share.
To answer your questions;
1 - Design decision to show off how strong a killer is?
2 - Nurse is strongest killer in the game. Especially the higher up the ranks you go. The proper way to counter her is stealth and breaking line of sight. The way most people counter her is by disconnecting. I strongly advise against that method though. It sucks for everyone involved.
3 - As a killer you will eventually go up against a sabo group. You will end up asking why it doesn't take longer to break the hooks.
4 - Camping is not reportable and in 'certain' situations actually the proper play. That being said, the killer's idea of camping and the survivor's ideas are completely different. As a killer be prepared to get insulted in post game chat. Either ignore it, or take it with honor. Games get intense and some people take things rediculously serious. Brush it off. Or make a lot and when you run into that player again, bring a mori and really piss him off!
Good hunting!
