Season characters - if this was a Netflix show
So as the title suggests, if this were a TV show. The following characters are corresponding to seasons.
Season 1 (OG characters):
Claudette: The Prototype Nerdy girl, sweet cinnamon roll but still has to die (sorry hun)
Meg: The first Final Girl who survives the season.
Jake: Boyfriend of Meg(Final Girl), dies trying to protect her.
Common interests: They both love the outdoors and Meg likes runs in the forest trails.
Dwight: Friend of Meg who secretly pines for her, dies second to last.
Season 2 ( When the views are getting good and they get a bigger Budget)
Feng Min: The competitive bish, who acts super tough and likes to be alone. Into Goth and being a rebel too. Dies in her room on a twitch stream.
Kate (Season 2 Final Girl): Is clueless and oblivious to much of what's going on until the last minute. Very artsy and into music. Has a tragic past with losing her mother, making us pity her.
Nea: Everyone suspects her of being a killer. Very mysterious, was bullied in her childhood giving her a false motive. Dissappears, and moves away after the first murder. Not having it.
David: Transfer student turned Jock. Boyfriend of Kate(S2: Final Girl). She constantly tells him his drinking is getting out of control but he acts like a douche. Dies fighting the killer after being caught Cheating by Kate.
Season 3 (The season where they take risks with the show and things get weird and you don't know if it might be cancelled cause it was trash):
Jane(S3 Final Girl): Murders have been happening and as a reporter she seeks the truth, she digs and digs until she finds something she wishes she hadn't. Kind and caring but also very inquisitive and that gets her into trouble.
Adam: Intern who works with Jane, dies trying to one up her by following her and trying to take credit before she reports to her boss. A kiss up who died.
Jeff: Boyfriend, soon to be fiance. Doesn't take things as seriously as Jane, comforts her while supporting her as she investigates. Dies after sex, in Jane's house during the final scenes of the movie.
Ace: Carefree gambler who risks it all, but has a temper despite his apparent sanguine demeanor. Dies in a casino, body never found. Although people in the casino have complained the food tasted weird...

If we got a DBD show, I'm sorry, but I would want it to stay as far away as possible from the tropes and similarities your post has to Scream and other teen horror flicks. Dead by Daylight is a story similar to the works of Lovecraft; primordial horror that feasts on the hope of innocents in its own private hellscape while using monsters and psychotic humans to kill its victims, over and over. If we were to get a show, each season would focus on a year or so of content, with the episodes telling the lore of characters in further depth while juxtaposing these stories against the backdrop of countless trials, deaths and escapes, to represent that death isn't an escape in the realm of the Entity, just a turning point.

I don't think there needs to be so much death. I think a common storyline which each character is a small piece of is ideal. Maybe something links these characters together and it's infact danger which follows them and not necessarily death.

I kinda think the Survivors which we know from dbd should be the ones to have escaped from the entity. Maybe at first Claudette is adamant that the entity exists because she's found some obscure scientific clue leading her to believe it. She tells her friends at Starbucks and they call her crazy. Claudette goes for a brisk walk in the woods after finding a map which the entity created. Claudette messes with some old ancient artifact and the entity consumes a part of the woods. It just happens that Meg jogs in the woods with her running club friends and Jake likes to observe nature. All of megs running club friends are murdered and the dbd main cast all escape until the next series.

Jake is seen as suspicious and everyone thinks he's the person killing everyone off one by one is him because observing nature is seen an excuse to being a creep.

The general concept is nice but it comes off as way too fanfiction for my liking
Looking into the characters I don't think it kind of completely the words from the bits of character we've gotten from them in the game.
1) Kate and David
Jake and Meg
Jane and Jeff
Honestly none of these characters being together really makes sense with what we know about them. I feel like if you have to break the character to ship them together it makes it come up as a really bad fanfiction.
2) yeah a lot of characters are just broken in this.
A) Feng Min: I feel like people tend to mistake being a lone wolf for being a bish. Min seems to be the type to care about people but if it's a life or death situation she jumping into a situation that would get her killed.
B) Adam: Jesus what the hell did the Adam do to you. Again nothing about Adam suggested he would typically act like this
