Killers have an offering that is a cocoon that has been breached. Any idea what was inside of it?

    Hollow shell probably represents something like... No, actually it represents abscence of something. Like, hope. It was said somewhere, that survivor's souls being devoured by small pieces with every death, until nothing left, but empty shells.

    From killer perspective it either shows how many souls they devoured: "like, this is your future, fear me."

    Or, maybe, it symbolises birth of something cruel, which don't need this cocoon anymore.

    Gross stuff usually comes from cocoons, right?
