can't sprint when jason sees me - bug or feature?

I haven't played in a while but I've played against jason before, so I'm not sure if it's just him or if it's a bug or not, but I just played one game and was sprinting fine until jason saw me, then I couldn't sprint away, I know about stamina I have some skill that has to cooldown all that was fine so I'm wondering maybe there's a new monster skill that paralyzes us with fear or whatever thanks
