new matchmaking encourages deranking
that's how I feel about it anyways. I went from instant lobbies last night to waiting 5+ minutes for a 200 ping game.
and I keep seeing people say this will stop survivors from "bullying" low rank killers, when that isn't the case at all.
anyone with the intention of bullying will already be in the lower ranks with the newer killers, all this change is doing is hurting red rank survivor queues.
you can catch me up there with them, I refuse to spend nearly 10 minutes finding a decent ping lobby just to face a spirit

Deranking has been encouraged ever since they introduced the emblem system. Nothing new here.
But the lobby time increase is a mess.

fair enough. there really shouldn't be any negatives either, but here we are

It's bad to be in higher ranks because people who are actually there tend to be really sweaty on both sides.

The main difference is before the fix the matchmaking was all over the place and new players were being mixed into red ranks.
The fix was needed but I do agree the deranking needs looked at. It's why I dislike using this system for matchmaking as it's too easy to manipulate.
Personally I think matchmaking should look at a lot more. Hours, average kills/escapes, points earned per game (different rules for each killer) perks unlocked on multiple chars etc.

All I been getting at red rank is death on hook from derankers followed by killers not giving a damn who does what on hook.
