Should killer kicking gens do more than just the regression that currently takes place.

There's a discussion going around about how stopping generator regression should be a channeled action. You have to walk up to the generator, and perform a 5 or 10 second action to stop the regression, and then start repairing the generator as a separate action. While in the process of stopping generator progression, no other Survivors can interact with the generator. You can be grabbed off of the generator while performing this action. Would help killers who can get around easily like Billy, Nurse, and Hag, or killers who've got range, like Huntress and Clown, snipe away at anyone who gets near.

Funny, because I use Hillbilly and I've dabbled with the Nurse and guess what? Survivors still get the gens done insanely fast. I hit Rank 1 and faced plenty of SWF/Streamer guys and I still feel like I got lucky when I 4 man. Either I got that one snowball with Billy and that stopped the gen rush or I'm just playing against bads. Or, I'm facing a squad using DS...
The argument that "Oh well, if you make gen regression stronger then Billy and Nurse will be even more powerful!" Is complete and utter bullshit.
It's not because the rest of the balance on the survivor side has nothing to do with Hillbilly's balance because he doesn't function the same as the rest of the killers. The entire generator mechanic needs to be reworked, and so does Ruin and the Hex system. They nerfed pallet looping with the pallet changes, and now Exhaustion is next on the chopping block.
Eventually, we're going to need killer changes, and Hillbilly should be the first to get normalized against the other killers' overall effectiveness.

A small version of pop goes the weasel (3%gen progression taken away) or just a basic over charge skill check built in(would get irritating). Or maybe a crazy shaky skill check which is silent follows. Ideas???1

Maybe killers could be given a skill check to determine how much damage they can do to the gen. Great skill check 10%. Good skill check 4% miss 0%. (Gen Progression taken away)0

The base regression speed should be much faster.5

@Blueberry if anything your suggestion is probably easiest to implement. Double the regression speed in my opinion.0

The base regression speed should be much faster.Agreed. It takes something of like 3-5 minutes I think for an entire gen to regress.

Faster regression killer perk is a fantastic idea!!

The base ability does needs to be buff somewhat, it's still silly how someone can continues to repair or stops the regression completely by just a tap

I think kicking gens should be more powerful.honestly i just want survivors to spend as much time to stop the regression as i did to start it, maybe even very slighty longer

It's already kinda strong in a sense, the issue comes from something else, that is mostly the lack of empathisis to not camp, and I doubt a slight buff to gen kicking would change anything about this. They need to rework maps, possibly put a few gens behind secondary objectives, aka doors and objects to move, that would take time/ressources to achieve, so it would actually take more time for survivors to unlock "safe gens", while they could still gen rush against most campers.

When you reach the generator, unless you have overcharge or pop goes the weasel, there is no reason to kick it if you find a survivor. Your time to kick the generator is enough for survivors to get away easily if you are not nurse or hillbilly. One tap is enough for survivors to stop its regression. When you get looped around the generator, survivors easily tap it and continue to loop you around the gen. If at least it takes more than 5 or 10 seconds, when you get looped around a genny, you will now know that one survivor is not doing a work and the work he has already done is being wasted.
One problem though is that if a killer wants 3 gen strap, it will be very difficult to repair a generator. Just like every other issue, you can solve this problem but when you solve it, it will cause more problems because of the players and their hunger to abuse the game.

Yeah, I like pop goes the weasel but it shouldn't be the requirement to get something done after kicking a gen so defenitely needs buffing. Gen kicking I mean, not pop goes the weasel

I don't see how that's a trouble. Kicking a gen knowing someone is around is just stupid and a waste of time. The whole point of kicking gen is pushing people away from the gen and get actual regression/baiting away back in for the tap to get them, usually.
Expecting instant reward is kinda meh.

Can we agree regression should (if it’s buffed) be reverted for the last survivor. If you have 4 gens left, and have to keep hiding, you’ll never get it done. It took me a solid 30 minutes to do it against a huntress on pale rose (complete a gen I mean)
