Stranger Things. How many new players did it bring in?

Overall enjoying the new chapter. I love everything from the chase music to the caged rat giving away my position. I just wanted to know how many new/returning players came for the new update?

    Hard to say...

This double bp weekend actually brought more people on at once than the ST release day. 🤷‍♀️

No records were broken either despite a free event.

According to steam charts at least.

@XavierBoah17 The question should not be how many new players it brought in, but how many new players it retains overall. Dead by Daylight has never had an issue bringing in new players, but it has been unable to retain them for slightly over a year now.

Every time there is a 50% off sale, for example, the Steamcharts numbers increase for a couple of weeks before retracting back to the normal 20k-25k daily peak users it showed before the sale. Indicating that it failed to retain them.

I made note of the Steamchart numbers increased during the release of the Stranger Things chapter and the 50% off sale. I'm going to be watching over the next month to see how the numbers go. Right now it's a bloodhunt, which also brings back Vets every time they have one, so numbers can't really be gauged yet.

Now, I can't speak for consoles, of course, because we have no external way to track that like we do for PC.

    Or the torturous grind.

This game has a lot of ways to turn off new players, I'm not even remotely surprised to hear that it has trouble retaining them. I love this game with all my heart, but I can't recommend it to friends.

    The question is:

    How many will stay?

If I had to guess I would say...17,406 and 9,854 of those have played over 10 hours as of today.

    Yippee

Ironically, it actually got me interested in the actual Stranger Things show...lol. I never followed it prior to the DLC being released and decided to check it out. Now I'm a fan!

On god, if someone could look into how many copies of the game were bought because of the Stranger Things chapter I'd marry them. I'm doing a business project on Netflix and have already mentioned Netflix giving the rights to Stranger Things to Behaviour Interactive and it would probably be pretty impressive if I could get a rough number on how many people bought the game because of the collaboration.

As a long time player of DBD, this Double Blood Event has had the worst killer wait times...
