End game collapse timer (glitch?)

So I was in a 3 man swf and our random (rank 7) through the entire game just t bagged near us as we did every gen (ending points was like 3k running from killer). At the end we opened the door and lined up body blocking the exit pointing at him to go either find the other exit or die. The killer was new sadly matchmaking paired us with a 18 and we there had yet to even be someone injured. The rank 7 finally left and as the collapse timer hit 50% it insta-killed all 4 of us at once giving the killer a 4k (although he only had 6k points so I guess good for him). Is that a thing that happens now? Or is that a glitch. As far as we could tell nobody D/Ced.

    Its bugged just leave when the gate opens or risk dying unless you have to go for a save. The sound for it is not bugged. Just listen for the bell chomes if you can count tjat way

    It's a bug. Happened to me and 2 friends against a leatherface. timer got down to about 30 seconds left, we're all running back to the exit gate after trying to save for a while, and then the collapse killed us all.
