I personally will be over joyed if you can purchase the battle bass with shards. But they really need to sort the game out I'm not putting any money into it as its a mess on console currently.

I'm very excited for it.
Red Dead recently added one too and that was great.
I've enjoyed battle passes in every game that doesn't let you buy tiers. If you can buy your way to the max tier that'd kill the hype for me.
An entry fee is fine though imo.

They needed another way to milk money other than DLCs that bring new bugs, characters with temporary broken perks and 10$ skins. Again, if they're hiring new bug fixing members I'm fine.

This game is damn near unplayable due to broken game issues, a hunt pass is the least of their worries.

Core gameplay bugs will always come out be fixed and reappear. I feel like stopping for minor bug fixes are a waste of time and will burn so many out if there are no new things added to the game, whether it's game modes or new chapters.
The big bugs need to be stomped out more quickly and hotfixes should take as little time as possible to push through. Hopefully hit registration issues and dcing is resolved in dedicated servers.

I’m all for the battlepass as long as they don’t make the cosmetics timed exclusives. It would also be nice if the pass was purchasable with iridescent shards.
On the other hand though I do agree with people saying that they really need to focus on fixing the game. It’s in a really bad state right now with just how many bugs there are.

This game is a total crapfest on console (PS4). Bugs, glitches, and lags that pull your survivor back to the killer while trying to run away. Not gonna spend more cash while it's like this on the PS4.

If they're not exclusive to the rift and gone later whats the point?
There will be no rush to buy and grind kr miss out. The reaction would be "meh i can get it in the store if i don't hurry"
Limited time earnable cosmetics would be super cool and have stories behind them.

The game should be improved and optimized to the fullest on all platforms before they even consider a battlepass...
Thankfully the Switch version should be the last port, so we should HOPEFULLY see improvement overall now.

Yeah. I think im ready to just delete dbd, it's been in a bad place for awhile and now its just competely broken.
Per ex. Just waited for 15 min lobbies with a SWF (me and 1 guy) and each time we loaded into a game, either there was no killer at all and it was just us restarting the already long queue, or he would join and i wouldn't or vice versa. So 15- 15- 15-
So i tried to go back to killer but queue times arent any better, waited 15 minutes and never even found an empty lobby so I just got offline.

Yes this happens every console generation. You don't want to just leave out people that upgrade their hardware. It'd be a huge population hit as people upgrade.
We don't keep our digital games like on pc we need ports to keep playing. Unless ps5 has digital back compat which sony has never done before.

Kinda, not really...but for some dumb reason I AM excited to see what the team does with it...despite all the issues, bugs and mishaps..,the game is still really enjoyable. I do appreciate the passion many of the BHVR team is with this game.
It's crazy how if it wasn't for PS+ having it free, I may have not gotten into this game at all.

The point is that you are getting cosmetics for FREE or an extremely discounted price rather than having to buy them in the store for $10 a piece at a later date. There doesn’t need to be timed exclusivity to make the battlepass worth it.
What I’m hoping they do is what they have already been doing with last events (Moonrise/ Hallowed Blight), which is once the event is over those who didn’t unlock the outfits can buy them in the store. Except the wait would be much longer for these ones considering that the rift period lasts 3 MONTHS, so even more reason to get the battlepass.
Plus timed exclusivity punishes people for having lives. I plan on studying abroad next year for 3 months and likely won’t be able to bring my PS4 with me so does that mean I deserve to just miss out on a bunch of cool cosmetics forever?

I obviously voted "Fix the core game & balance issues" but I also believe that DBD should become F2P.
Many more players attracted to the F2P will also improve the quality of matchmaking, something that DBD could afford: the DLC are attractive, the Battlepass will be successful anyway, and the skins - even if they are a little expensive - are very worked and are totally optional. I believe it will be possible AND desirable.

I really don't care, and yes, I seen your YouTube video about Homo (I think that's what it's called). I came to the conclusion that if you can't control your spendings, you shouldn't really be playing a game with micro transactions in my opinion. :)

I do not see the allure of a "battlepass" neither do I think DBD is a good game for it.
Keep that kind of stuff in games that milk every cent out of player's wallets. (or parent's wallets)

Nope, I like giving you money for specific things I want, not for stupid and senseless grinding to get 1 item or 2, what happens if I get burned out and never get the skin(s) I wanted for the season battlepass? NO, it's a definetely NO for me.
Want more money? Fix your game, make more original killers and sell cosmetics we all have been asking for like bunny Feng or Tunnel Bandit Steve

The allure is getting skins that show what battle pass seasons you were around for.
Like a Legacy how you know those are 2016 players.
You'd see people with battle pass skins and know they grinded that season. Then the skins become rare and cool as they age.
Vs the store where they're just there for $10 and mean nothing and can be acquired whenever.

They literally said it will be this way in the anniversary stream. They said the battle pass will have exclusives and rewards not in the free track.
They also showed this as an example of the new exclusives
Here is the explanation at 1:01:00. They even say the cosmetics will be time limited and related to the current Archive story that is going on.

I also think the base game should become free to play, it basically is on xbox due to it being on game pass and it's mostly always near free on PC during sales. They could still sell bundles such as original killer bundle or something. I think with the battle pass, cosmetics and dlc the devs would probably make more money with players who stick with the game after downloading it for free.Some may think they won't like the game because it's not their type of genre, like I did, and not buy it.
The devs do need to try to balance the game and fix the many, many bugs before devoting their time to battle passes though even though I am looking forward to it if the price is right. Please also make it so we can link accounts, I don't mean cross play, so we can at least use our earned or bought cosmetics on other platforms.

I spend hundreds on DOTA2 every summer, so assuming it's done correctly, I don't particularly care.
Monetization is a necessary evil in game design. Raises and benefits for employees are a reality and sources of revenue to cover those costs have to be found.
Over the last year or so Behav10r has been doing a pretty good job and if they need support then let them do what they can to get it. The game is far better than it once was.

I'm concerned it will start off benign and quickly become malignant. Battle Pass is pretty common among games with questionable monetization. Prefer that path was avoided all together.

I love the game and think a battle pass would be worth grinding for as long as its not something stupid.. but I still vote for them to fix the game cuz that's more necessary
