I agree, GF's reveal mechanic is ridiculously inconsistent. I have half a dozen videos on my xbox of the mechanic not working. Most of them during a chase, and all within the range of the addon that forces you to be closer to him. It probably would be more, but I just don't see them any more. Sometimes it goes the other way and I reveal him on the other side of a wall when I didn't even know he was there. In my experience it works right about 20% of the time.

Agreed, breaking that shroud is pretty buggy and he has been for a while, so make the center bigger because its pretty frustrating.
Most GF noobs hook and camp from a distance to down the guy that goes to unhook, becoming pretty much an unhook simulator.
Or at least make shroud cooldowns, once I broke the shroud and in 5 seconds he did it again...

I can just agree here. If a killer is only playable, if you ignore most of the power and just use a minor part of it to get him to work, he's badly designed.

Well in regards to this, people at Red Ranks do that just fine to me, they either stand or even run and break me out of stalking.
They even do it behind cover and walls, so I don't know if its a rank thing or what (Also thank you!)

Those Survivors have a vantage point, I play at red ranks on Xbox and oh boy, they will snipe you from across the map if you give them the chance

I have a clip saved of how he was chasing me in the cornfield for ages and without stopoing looking at him I couldn't reveal him and the playing as him I crouch behing little walls and they still reveal me. I gave up on this killer a while ago and I was really excited for his launch

You can, but you have 0.3 second less than you would normally think.
The buffer time is small, but very important

dude i literally ran behind cover when the music started playing.
he revealed me when i was already around the corner of the killershack (while he was inside of it).
you should not be able to be revealed through a wall, periode.
yes he cought a glimpse of me before, though i ran into cover when he started revealing, which should stop the process.
i just rewatched it again and while he revealed me i was literally less than a second in his FoV. it took me ~1 second to notice the music and run behind cover and it wasnt enough, he then revealed me even though he had lost the LoS to me for ~2 seconds.
in that scenario it didnt really matter, though it can be very frustrating when that happens during the game.
but maybe you're right, maybe it was the music that didnt go off at the right time, who knows? though you cant deny that this reveal looked like it should not have revealed me.

At one point I was off the gen and staring at him but it just didnt break. He wasnt even in cover just right out in the open

Its not the fact that its hard its the fact while hes standing up completely still and Im staring at him behind a tire, right in front of him, or in the middle of the chase it wont even say im looking at him and he just exposes me

Add-ons are being used to shorten the range. You also have to keep in mind that your character must be looking at Ghostface. Plus, you can't just get rid of a licensed character.
