Dedicated Servers need to stay in the PTB.
The video speaks for itself.

And I thought I had it bad
Jezzus that was painful to watch

Please remove the dedicated servers once and for all

No one would play the ptb just to test the servers, specially if it's bad.
0 -
Problem is no one would subject themselves to this intentionally which means less data.
4 -
this is perfectly normal gameplay what're you talking about?
5 -
lol, maybe for some unfortunate people, but I don't think I've ever lagged as bad as I have today.
0 -
I'd rather test them in real games so we can get better results.
2 -
well i play from Europa, a moon of Jupiter, and this looks perfectly normal.

🤣 Touché

I've literally had zero strange games today at all as killer. I think the only people having bad games are people that aren't close to servers.
0 -
We don't get paid to test. Not interested in working for free. Hire some gamers to do so.
1 -
I doubt hiring tens of thousands of people from around the world to stress test is a viable option.
5 -
4:52 New Wraith power buff looking nice.
3 -
A stress test isn't needed. You have 5 people in a given game. It isn't a MMORPG.
1 -
Thanks for the nightmares.
1 -
Did they ever send their video?
1 -
No problem, your nightmares are my daily grind :(

No, I guess they thought I was bluffing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

🤯🐷 Just wooow!

well I just had my first two games on dedicated servers today as I logged in and saw the new patch, both games as a killer, 1st one the Host disconnected in mid game (why and who was the host that decied to DC? ain't this a dedicated server?) and the second one Host disconnected after 3rd down like 2 min into the game.

5 people per game but way more than 5 people per server.
I'm sure if there were only a total of 5 players on the game then the connection would be much easier to handle.
2 -
You don't stress test Amazon servers in a game like this. You stress test MMORPGs to see how many people you can have on one. It's just not the same thing.
Either way people who have paid for the game should not be forced to playtest Behaviors game. They have the option for a voluntary PTB.
People who are trying to rank up are being hosed.
I want to play right now. I do not want to play like that Wraith video shows. Ergo, I can't play the game I paid for, unless I want to test for free for Behav10r. Even worse is the fact I pay for a gigabit ethernet and this test is working towards making my games suck.
0 -
I have no idea what servers they are using (but Amazon is probable I just haven't checked).
Also I didn't say anything about if live testing is proper, just that stress testing like this can't be done with just a handful of paid volunteers.

Speaking from the UK here, the pings such a godsend with the dedicated servers, it's made the game so much more enjoyable, constant 50 ping, keep them ON. so many more laggy bugs caused by killers bad connection from p2p , this is much better, bugs aside, just fix the bugs slowly, it's less buggy than p2p.
1 -
What do you expect from these devs honestly? Their main project is a game with under 100k players.
0 -
Too be fair, has BHVR EVER released something that went right?
I honest too god feel they don't test anything and just rush it out for people too try and they'll just fix it later.

Here's what I see, if you want a good game then it's your goal as a consumer to make sure the developers know what is wrong with their Dedicated Servers.
Otherwise, you can't complain about Dedicated Servers being bad because you had the opportunity to give the developers feedback but choose not to instead because "you wanted to be paid".
The developers don't need to pay you for doing your job as a consumer, namely, providing feedback. :/

And I wondered why the hitboxes were so bad today, before I've read the news...
I had constant green ping, 50 and lower, but the hitboxes were so much worse than ever before.
I got hit by hatches, seconds after I saw them flying past me, I got hit after I fast vaulted a pallet and were standing on the other side of it, I got hit through a wall after I went behind it and the list goes on. Everything of this happened in the last few matches I've played just now.
This experience was even worse than on the ptb.
I just hope they'll never really release the dedicated servers like that. It will completely destroy the game. Please cancel them or fix them, I don't care. But in the current state, it is not really playable anymore.

No, I can complain. I pay for gigabit internet. I don't have lag issues. I didn't pay for the game and all the DLCs faithfully to test a garbage dedicated server setup that doesn't benefit me in the slightest and actually will serve to make my stable green pings, yellows, so some random in Madagascar goes from a 1300 ping to a 700.
Further, as a consumer my goal is purchase products I want to buy. I have zero obligation to make something better. You pay employees to do that. I don't have a job as a consumer as jobs come with pay. I paid for the game and people do not pay to work. The product was working just fine before and now I'm being forced to test what is obviously in the video a complete failure and lectured about my obligations to provide feedback.
I have enough experience in computing, since 1995 seriously, to know how difficult good net code is to create and how inexperienced Behav10r is with it. It'll be years before it's acceptable if we are lucky.
If you have enough free cash to fund dedicated servers then you have enough free cash to pay some kids minimum wage to sit around and playtest the servers instead of subjecting your playerbase to this rubbish.
2 -
I didn't have issues nowhere near this. There were a few sketchy hits over pallets, but nothing out of the norm. You guys are all probably extremely far from the servers.
I played over 10+ matches np

That's bs.

Okay.

You know... when you said you got hit by hatches, for a second my brain assumed you meant the exit hatch...
And now I wanna see a survivor next to the hatch spawn, getting hit by the door when it opens and falling to ground.

They have practically released them and without warning. It feels like they were afraid of the community outcry if they announced it beforehand.

Hope they turn them off soon because this type of stuff is really unbearable.
0 -
Lol, obviously they are a long way from dedicated servers being ready. That was pretty painful.
2 -
My JOB as a consumer is to enjoy the game in my free time! I'm not slave labor. They can use the perfectly good money we pay them to pay people to test their stuff.
7 -
Or at least make the base game free and market it on PC as beta as other games (e.g. Warframe) have done.

Your job as a consumer is also to provide feedback as well. If it wasn't your job as a consumer, there wouldn't be a "feedback and suggestion" sub form let alone a "Dedicated Servers Feedback" sub form whenever they activate them on the PTB.
However, if you don't want to participate in making the game a better place by offering feedback, then don't complain when bugs, connection issues, and etc. ruin your "free time". You had the option to make the game better by testing stuff and offering feedback, but decided not to — thus there are consequences to your actions.
The developers need everyone to participate, this is a team effort. There's a reason why they told us it's our game, not their game. :)

If that were true and they wanted our feedback about the dedicated servers on the live build, why wasn't the release properly announced in game? I hadn't taken part in the PTB so it took me a while to realize what was going on. If I knew, I could have properly documented and reported the issues I encountered.
1 -
You are wrong on every single count. I absolutely can and do expect a professional well-made product when I spend money. I reserve the right to do whatever I wish with my free time. If I choose to give feedback then that is my choice. If I choose to complain about the product being unsatisfactory then that is also my choice.
If I choose to not waste my time and money on the game because I'm unsatisfied and would prefer to do other things in my free time that is my choice. I am under no obligation what-so-ever. A job is something I get paid to do. If I'm not getting paid then it isn't a job. A game is something I play for enjoyment. If BVHR puts out an unsatisfactory product then the consequences are theirs, not mine.
3 -
All my games were smooth as butter tonight as killer on the East Coast USA.
1 -
How can you expect a professional product if you aren't going to help them?
Like I said, the developers can't do everything, and they definitely can't read your mind on what you want as a consumer (as well as what is wrong). You are free to do whatever you want, but there are consequences.
Choosing not to help them can end up hurting you and everyone else in the long run. That's all I'm saying, and if everyone would participate, the game would be in a better state.
2 -
@NMCKE Regarding participation, what are your thoughts on my comment?

I'm telling you, all these people complaining must be in the middle of nowhere. I have had zero issues today at all in California.
2 -
It would be confusing for console players because they can't get into the PTB. However, the official forums are linked to the game, so everyone can get equal access on events and offer their word there (if they choose to). :)
I'm sorry if I sound a little oppressive, but the game won't just improve on it's own. Feedback plays a huge role in every game, and it was the reason why DS was reworked, pallet vacuum was removed, EGC was introduced for standoffs, and so on.
If no one offered any feedback at all, where would the game be at today?
