So, did they ease up the grind or...?
As a kinda new player, I have yet to notice any changes. Getting teachables is still a pain in the ass. So far I've played 60 hours and my player level is 39 and have only 2 teachables. BBQ and ruin

Not very much. Also, when you're not getting points for escaping or bonus points for wglf then it's even less noticeable.

From level 40 and on, you'll be able to buy 2 Perks, meaning getting all of those on one character is a lot faster.

It really only affects the late game honestly. The people getting all perks on a single character. The changes don't help getting teachables as it starts at lvl 40. I would suggest playing killer for that during events.

That's right, games usually reward investment.

There is a difference when the Killer or Survivor you play as reaches past level 40. You can get two perks tiers instead of 1. So (if i did math right) there are 71 survivor perks. Each perk has 3 tiers. 71 x 3 = 213 bloodwebs. 1-39 bloodwebs one get one perk so. 213-39=174 bloodwebs. Now with the update is 40+ you get 2 perks. So 174Ć·2=87 bloodwebs to get every perk. So all together is 39+87=126 bloodwebs. So with the update you have to do 126 bloodwebs for all survivor perks for one guy. There are other variables like you have to get the perks. Like getting survivors/killers to level 40 then doing the main you want which adds another 40 bloodwebs to the 126 complete character. Overall it is better than previous bloodweb. However not perfect.
Yeah it is late game. Doesn't help newer people.

I've spent more hours of that in other games pretty sure I have invested well over 5k hrs in the soulsborne series. 200 plus hrs on a game you enjoy means nothing.

They reduced the grind tremendously. I don't know how anyone could say the change was slight. You are literally getting the perks at double the speed you were before and because it's multiple in a web you have a higher chance of getting the perks you want more, much sooner.
The changes have cut my grinds in half.

I've played a lot of mmorpgs with multiple years of content. And all of them had some sort of catch-up mechanics. Even non-mmo games had em.
It just strikes me as odd that dbd is like, "So you sunk $50 into DLC? Here, fuxk you, now grind 300 hours for the rest of the content, you entitled swine"

When I'm done I will post my numbers from leveling Demogorgon to P3-50 with all perks. I'm sitting at P3-1 atm.
So far every 1-50 has been below 1.5 million bp, about the same as before. The change is at lvl 50 I have 62 perks instead of the previous 52. You have to be careful getting those two perks. Sometimes the Entity will grab the second before you can reach it. It takes some planning before grabing your first perk or risk another lvl 50 web.
Getting Demo's perks on the other killers has average 6 bloodwebs. Sometimes you can get lucky with 5 webs. Takes about 270k to complete one. Before it was around 384k.
I'm hoping to be done before Mid Chapter.

I don't mind those so much. For me it's the maps, keys, and flashlights, and their addons. I basically never use them. So they're useless to me.

Oh, btw, yes: I'd love to see BP Offerings buffed some more.
It's always nice to get some more, but it's just weird to have Escape! Cake & Survivor Pudding at the same rarity as those weaker BP-category Offerings.

I mean after hitting lvl 50 you are now getting 2 perks every bloodweb instead of 1 every time. I already got my Demi P3 lvl 50 with all perks and I've already updated every other killer with all the new perks as well. Previously I'd still be working on that with a lot to go still.

Took me 1700 hours to get all perks all killers and 4 survivors all perks. (No Prestige)
This game is basically a way of life. Now it is a bit easier.

My numbers are ofcourse my own. I typically try to be as cheap as possible going through the webs.
Based on previous numbers. If the bloodwebs were the same as before:
Update perks on 16 killers: 6,144,000
P3 and Max one killer: 13,342,000
Total: 19,486,000
With the new webs:
Update perks on 16 killers: 3,840,000
P3 and Max one killer: 9,838,000
Total: 13,678,000
The new web is based on lvl 50 costing 48k to complete. This seems to be too low for the curent webs but I need to do more of them to get a good average.
Going by the numbers I have currently the new system is ~29% cheaper than the old.

To be fair getting to lvl 40 hasn't been much of a grind for a while. It was always about getting the perks you wanted on all the chars you played hence they lessened the grind from that point.
The game has always been a grind and it's what keeps a lot of people playing.
The bloodwebs take a bit of getting used too and learning how the entity works so you can get it to swallow more of it makes them go much faster.

Not for new players, sadly. Only kicks in at 40+ on killers, after the range at which you unlock teachables.
Does investment happen only at 40+?
There are 17 killers, it's about 1 million BP to get level 40 on 1 killer, so we're talking about 17 million BP -- a conservative estimate -- to unlock all teachables.
Regardless of our individual opinions about the grind, I think (or at least hope)we can all agree that 17 million bloodpoints represents a significant investment.

Nah grind is still the same they only made the perk grind less painful so it's easier to get all the perks once you prestige. 1-50 still takes like 2 mill BPS

Some games also make sure new players and veteran players are separated so the disparity between "investment" doesn't impact either group of players negatively.

So say 30k average per game and 10 min average (bbq and WGLF a must) that's 448 hours roughly to get all chars maxed out minus the BP offerings, DBP weekends or other events which give more bloodpoints.
Mind you once you get the chars you want with the perks which can happen at anytime is it still a grind or just using what you have to level up others for the fun of it š.

And i think it's more than fine that a game that is updated regularly for years asks you to invest a lot.

The grind is still too much. It's better than what it was, but it's still unfriendly to newer players and it hasn't been "cut in half".
A good start would be to fix things so survivors are getting all of their blood points for surviving and wlgf to work consistently.
Fixing bp offerings would be another thing I'd look at. Selling useless items would be another. There are definitely some things they could implement to help things along further in lowering the grind.

It would be more for survivors, two more survivors than killers. The number is for the current game with 17 killers. It could very well be less if lvl 50 webs became cheaper. The average cost before was around 48k per web.

Well, I can't remember all but 50k as cheap, was only in the big bloodweb that appears in level 50. That was the problem the guy that said that high amount had. The user here used the 50 level bloodweb as an average (wich start to appear from level 30 and not frequently so unless you have level 50 you won't see that giant bloodweb a lot ) but the first ten levels as an example you spend an average between 10k to 15k bloodpoints 11 level to 14 level an average between 15k to 20k. I did to level 35 almost but don't remember exactly the amounts of average BP per bloodweb between levels 15 to 35 so I am sorry if I can't provide that data.
So it's less. I am not saying is not insane but def it's less than most of people says here because they make some mistakes. For example those guys multiply the 50 level bloodweb for all existent perks but... the killer have 3 perks at tier I. Same applies as a survivor.

The change is for people who want every perk on a person. From levels 1-39 nothing is different, but 40-49 gives 3 perks, with the possibility of 2, and level 50 gives 4 perks, with the possibility of 2. It helps the grind and lets you get a better decision on what perks you actually want.

The levels 1-49 were observed separately based on actual leveling serveral killers through multiple prestiges. This comes to around 1.5 to 1.7 million bp.
The average of lvl 50 webs is to calculate for all perks after getting to level 50. Not for levels 1-49.
