Unpopular opinion but I hope the next DLC isnt original

Main reason for that being is that most original chapters come with a map, and if we follow the year 3 roadmap, theres no map planned for the next chapter. So we'd get an original killer and perhaps survivor with no respective map. So far every original killer has their map with their theme. Licensed killers on the other hand dont really need a map. Examples being Leatherface and Ghostface. If they come with a map that's cool but I dont think they need a new map as much as original characters need a new map. Just my thoughts

as long as we get something it's fine by me, frankly they could make a stone a killer and I would be pumped

So if I understood correctly, you hope it's not an original killer because you want all original killers to come with maps?

Fair enough, except Matthieu Cote did an interview recently with YouTuber The King in which it was mentioned that the next chapter wouldn't include a map and Matthieu's response was something along the lines of "What? Really?" and then "Well we've always said the roadmap was subject to changes". So in summary, sounds like a map might be planned for the next chapter after all.

Yeah I caught that too, Matthieu giving away spoilers lol XD

They did say that the roadmap was never final, that things could change so who knows what we could see next.

But yeah, i just feel like original killers coming with an original map is just more fitting and I'd honestly be disappointed if they didnt come with one. I love seeing the maps devs can create, especially when they're not going off of something licensed, new realms are always cool and maps like purgation and the chapel are really cool imo. It's just my hopes tbh

I agree about original killers coming with maps, but I'd still like the next chapter to be original because it's looking like it might include a map after all.

Welp, this just gave me more hope for pennywise being the next killer (I know its unlikely, but i can dream cant I?)

I have to disagree about the maps. In my opinion, it makes perfect sense for a licensed chapter to include an iconic location from the film it is based on. To not do so would seem like a major missed opportunity.

I think at this point maps are more important than characters. After playing DBD for a while, you'll constantly be playing on the same maps over and over again. It gets redundant and when a new map comes out, it's like a breath of fresh air.

I would be 110% down for map DLC's that would give us new maps.

The only reason I want an original killer/survivor over a licensed one, is so I can buy it with shards instead of real money.

I just wish they would at least attempt a new game mode or something

Heheh some people are okay with buying them all at launch. Nothing wrong with that. You guys support my playing habit, basically. Big thanks to you dedicated players!

I would rather have licensed killers/survivors over original killers/survivors in general, not a knock on the quality of DBD's original content, but it's fun playing with licensed stuff.

It's why games like Super Robot Wars are my favorite.
