I wish the game didn't reward not playing
So SO SO many games I have an injured teammate who stops playing. Today I did three out of the four gens. I didn't want to do the fifth because I knew my teammate was just hiding, doing nothing, and waiting for me to finish it or get killed trying. After literally 10 minutes of watching my teammate (thanks, Bond) do nothing, I got a gen to about 60% done and shockingly, the killer found me. She had been camping hatch and didn't move a muscle to save me on my first hook. I am just so tired of teammates too scared or too selfish to do anything and constantly getting rewarded for it.

Not a solution, but have you tried playing with a different mindset? In F13, people play selfishly all the time. Why not take a gander at lone wolf style.

Go join them.
Have some fun.
Make some noise. 😉

I mean, I play solo. I did three gens alone that game and nearly finished the 4th. Second game I played? Only other teammate (with full health) hid and waited for me to die instead of finishing the last gen. I got chased, lost the killer, found a chest, got a medkit, healed, got chased a second time. There's no way they couldn't have finished a gen in that time if they tried. They chose to stop working on objectives and hide so they could get hatch. It's almost every single game this happens.

I might as well just play killer to be honest.

Reward? As in escaping?
Because unless you pulled your weight escaping isn't a reward. The reward is Bloodpoints if you got less than 10k you lost. Period.
The scaredy cats who hide after being hooked never break 10k.

I hate when this happens! Especially when you've done well the entire match and get killed on your first hook because they're too selfish to save you.
I once had a match against a Myers who'd killed half the team. There were 2 gens left and Myers was patrolling pretty well so I had to sneak attack that gen like no one's business. When I'm hiding from Myers, Jake appears from a corner and asks for heals. As soon as possible he sneaks back over and hides in a locker. I have to do these gens by myself with absolutely no help while it gets regressed multiple times.
I power the gates and immediately run into Myers who chases me long enough for Jake to get the door open. I'm hooked and I watch the Jake who did nothing stand in the gate entrance and point/teabag at Myers. I'm sitting there like... wow.
But all was well in the end as this was the one and only time I've ever yeeted myself off the hook and I got the hatch. So lucky 🤯

Honestly it's sad but it's true I've had games where one person has simply not done anything and has basically gotten carried to Victory.
Annoyingly enough I've also seen people get their adept achievements this way

Ya, this is in fact an err on my own part. I'm far too passive.

I wonder how many thousands of bps I've lost when I do everything but escape because one teammate is too scared to do anything to help the team.

Had a game on the new map where a teammate sat on the gen I finished and waited for me to die. It was against a noobie Bubba who I ran for at least five minutes. He didn't even try. And he got hatch when I got bored and just let the Bubba kill me.

I only play solo and that's my mindset most of the time. I escape roughly 85% of the time. I'm in it for me and me alone. Plain and simple. I won't save if there's just me and someone else. I'm going to escape. It's #########? I guess. It's not called survive together by daylight though. Dev's even wanted people to understand that not everyone is going to get out.

I just have to look at is a 1 vs 4 even when I'm a survivor. No matter how much I help my team, they are not interested in helping me. It only gets me killed on my first hook. I'm done being a good teammate.

One of a few reasons why solo Q is frustating af. Just get some decent players into your friendlist and play swf. It doesn't have to be on voice coms, but just having good team mates and knowing noone in the team will do bullshit as you described above.

Trust me when I tell you this is COMMON all the way even up to red ranks. It blows my mind how some of them play like this. My condolences.

Why would you stick your neck out when you are near death? I mean I understand you don't want peoplr doing nothing the entire game, but if a guy is 2 hooks and injured why would he get on a gen if he is unsure of where the killer is?

in the end, they got almost no points and probaply depiped.
i mean, whats an escape good for if you got nothing out of it?
you on the other hand got some nice lightbringer points and some nice points along the way.

I don't know what's worse, groups who are too altruistic or groups that are under altruistic

In a situation like this you're best to try and get the killer on the other person. Imo they started it by not playing, the war is on

I'm sorry you've had such negative experiences. 😥
I main killer but I've been thinking about seeing how the other half lives lately. Not gonna lie, this is a little discouraging. Not all that surprising, though, if weighed against my experiences in other multiplayer games.
I hope you have better luck and less depressing teammates.

I was in a game awhile ago (sorta unrelated). Soon as the game started. I heard that the killer was nearby. So I hid in a locker. The entire time they stopped working on the gen. Walked over at the locker. KEPT OPENING THE ######### DOOR! So I'm stuck there not able get out. So the entire time they were doing that. They could have had it done. While I could have been able get out. Then help them out if I was sure. The killer was no longer there. But bc they kept doing that. The killer found us down us both. I was hooked they managed get away. I was unhooked by another survivor. But ended up killed later on. I sent a msg asking them about it. They said they did it bc I wasn't helping them with the gen. 🤦♂️

Sometimes I understand the mindset of selfish I let a Dwight die on first hook because it was Infinite tier 3 Myers and I was in a locker by the hatch but what you described is to much

If 2 are left and I get caught first, I die to give them a chance at the hatch.
Saving the other survivor will depend on whether or not I have found the hatch yet.
I am most grateful when that survivor lets themselves die.
This is how we do it in the solo queue.

(Rank 8 Myers):
I had a Rank 14 Survivor and a Rank 2 Survivor hiding it out on the Swamp Map.
The Rank 14 Disconnected I found the Hatch and Forced the Quentin [Rank 2] to come out. (Also had Tier 3 99'd)
He Died and both didn't really do anything lol.

Yeah, they can camp the hatch together. Sounds like a blast. More important, who are these people still playing F13?

@ProfessorDunwich Playing for yourself doesn't necessarily mean camping the hatch. F13 is still fairly active on PS4, especially if you're in the general or a specialized community.

From a killer's POV: if one survivor is just doing that and hiding, perhaps follow him around causing noises? if he's just going to hide make the killer know the general area to find both of you to end the game quicker. or perhaps even show the killer the hatch. I know this means giving up the game, but isn't that what will happen anyway when you're 1v2ing a killer?
