Does it matter WHEN I purchase the battlepass?
So basically I want to know if I can finish/complete the whole free pass (I think it's called tiers? Idk) of one season, and then afterwards purchase the premium pass for 1k auric cells and automatically get EVERYTHING unlocked from the premium pass?
Edit: if that's the case, why would I ever buy the premium pass asap instead of waiting? And how is this system even going to work, you get 1k auric cells back right? So a dedicated player just purchases the premium pass ONCE and then can buy all upcoming premium passes for free with the regained auric cells?

Usually thats how passes work. I can't even find anything besides youtube videos on what all the rewarda are though.

you can indeed yes. you can progress all the way to the final tier, tier 70, and then purchase the pass to get ALL the premium rewards. and, of course, you can do this at any tier to earn all the rewards up to that point you're at in the pass.

"All players will have access to rewards on the FREE track and, should they want even more cool rewards, the PREMIUM track will be accessible by unlocking The Rift Pass. Tier progress between the two will remain consistent for all players, so if a tier is reached on the FREE track and The Rift Pass and is later unlocked, players will also earn every PREMIUM reward from previous tiers, retroactively as well."
this is the exact quote from the website explaining the rift.
also to your questions, you'd only buy it right away if you just felt like it or knew you could grind through the whole thing. and yes, you can earn all 1,000 cells back. im guessing they're counting on most players not grinding that far? which is odd for how grindy this game is, but, hey i wont complain about getting future passes for basically nothing.

I just can't imagine this to be true... I mean as long as I play enough I just gave to purchase 1k auric cells once and get all the cosmetics in the future? I'm not complaining, I'm happy with that. It just seems unreal lol

As long as you buy it before the rift end date.

it does yeah. honestly as long as that stays true with the future rifts, i'll be super happy. and also, if you buy the 10$ auric cell pack you get 1,100 cells, so you even have a bit of wiggle room. assuming you dont have cells from past purchases and whatnot.

So the rift will be closed as soon as a new rift appears and noone will ever has access to that again if he never bought it right?

Sounds cool. Do you know how other battlepass in other games work? Is it the same concept? I would assume you can't get the value back in f2p games and dbd is the exception to this since its not f2p

As far as I know, yes.
You will be able to buy the skins later in the shop but the charms and stuff will be exclusive.

i dont play too many games with battlepasses to be honest. ive played one and... it wasnt good. they did this thing where if you bought the premuim track, you would actually progress 50% faster. and i dont think you could earn back all the currency you spent... i cant remember, havent touched the game in a year now. and it was a free to play game but still... also other passes tend to make it harder to progress as you go on. but honestly DBD's is a very fair one from what i can see. costs the same amount of fragments no matter what tier you're on. theres no benefit to the premium track besides the extra cosmetics. i'll definitely be getting the pass, if its the same as the PTB's pass at least.
