Tunneling and pipping

Let me preface this with saying I play killer about 60% of the time, so please let's skip thir lle, "Salty survivor main" drivel. I'm a Spirit main, and have been since she was released. Prior, I always played Michael, Trapper, and the Hag. I know the struggle of both sides, so let me have a discussion without accusations of being a whiny survivor.

When I play survivor, I play solo. I do not enjoy SWF because I feel it's a crutch and soooooo many people are boosted because they know where the killer is at all times, they know they'll get unhooked with BT, they have people who can coordinate and help them. In my opinion, it's incredibly easy to get to red ranks when you SWF, so I play strictly solo because I like to earn my rank. You win some, you lose some. However, we all know that spawning into a match is a crapshoot: often, you spawn in and you're have a killer ten feet from you. It's not always about skill and "don't get seen" because sometimes it's just bad luck. Or you spawn in with a heartbeat and a jerk teammate who runs Bond to bring the killer to you or slams a pallet down by you. You get chased, hooked, then tunneled as soon as you're unhooked. You don't get a chance to even touch a gen, let alone heal or save anyone. Last night, I spawned near Jake, who was immediately chased and brought the killer to me. I ran the killer for 4 gens, was hooked, and everyone tried to save me. Yet, I was tunneled off hook and everyone went back to doing gens. I ran the killer for the remaining gen and for doors to be opened. And I depipped. I've been tunneled SO much that I went from rank 2 to 4/5. Now, I understand that tunneling is a "strategy" and allowed. However, I feel devs should let survivors who are tunneled from the start of the match safety pip. If a survivor got a fair game (was chased, unhooked, and had the chance to meet an objective), then that's one thing; however, if you were chased within seconds of the match starting and tunneled relentlessly to where you didn't have a chance to do anything but run, you shouldn't depip. Too many killers tunnel their way to red ranks, and they seldom depip for camping and tunneling.

I also struggle with feeling like killers shouldn't be able to see the names of survivors because it encourages bad sportsmanship (especially if you've escaped against a killer before).

Thoughts, suggestions? Like I said, I don't tunnel or camp (unless someone is tormenting me with a flashlight or purposely taunting me). But as a survivor, it's too easy to spawn into a game and not get a fair shot if you're a solo player. I know many people SWF and won't understand it...but it's an entirely different game when you're solo.

Completely agree. After the match, okay, not before or during.

I also agree to giving out more safety pips, for things not in your control. And honestly... You saved your entire team and distracted the killer for the whole match.... That is SKILL. Oh but you didn't SPREAD your points during the match... so what? Being able to loop the killer the entire game... if anyone should pip for skill, it was that person (you). I mean what'd they others do? Hold M1, hit space periodically. Hold W and shift. Do it again?

I think the matchmaking system isn't that great to really show a persons skill level off. I don't see it being "fair" in some games either. But that's just me.
