Killer/Survivor rules ???

Apologies if this has been asked before - Whenever i play killer i keep seeing survivors complaining after the match that i didn't follow the rules. Apparently killers have rules. Apparently they are written somewhere on the website (which i actually bothered to look for and didn't find). Can someone explain what these "rules" are supposed to be and why the hell i can't play the game like i want to ? before you say anything it's not about camping, the issue usually pops up when i let someone go (unfair/feeding ?), when i kill all 4 (greedy ?), or when i tunnel someone because he's been trying to screw over one or several of the other survivors (unfair/tunneller ?). Some even said straight out that i was to be banned sometime in future...

NO TROLLING PLS, been playing this game (casually) since it came out and i get these guys fairly often.

    1. Don't abuse/harass people in game chat.
    2. Don't stalk/harass a player outside the game.
    3. Don't hold the game hostage (intentionally hiding for long periods of time for no other reason, preventing survivors from leaving by bodyblocking for long periods of time for no other reason, etc.).
    4. Don't grief other players (working with killer/survivor to sabotage.)

But most of the other "rules" are bullshit.

There's no rule against tunneling or getting a 4k. Those survivors are just salty. As for letting someone go, it depends on the context. Were you farming? If that was the case, then it is technically reportable, but I don't think anyone reports for farming unless it's at their expense. None of these will get you banned.

I play the game for fun, not for points. I usually let one go... i don't really know, being nice ? because i'm usually between 20-12 i get a lot of newbies so i try to help them out and learn the ropes. Only when a guy starts teabagging/merry go round with vaults/has a really stupid name then i tunnel. If i notice they are working together as team then i go 4k. Is that bad ?

Also i never did anything like the 4 rules mentioned in post #2.

    3. Don't hold the game hostage (intentionally hiding for long periods of time for no other reason, preventing survivors from leaving by bodyblocking for long periods of time for no other reason, etc.).
So, if I put a RBT on multiple survivors and they got saved from the hook... I body block the basement so they can't get rid of the RBT and they DC. Bannable?

The devs said it wasn't bannable because death is still escaping. Not different from facecamping the hook.

I think it's dumb, but it's such a rare situation anyway, it hardly matters. As long as you're not sitting there upwards to 50 years to force the survivor to rage quit.

Someone blocked me and I went outside with friends. When I came he was still blocking me LUL

As for the original post, camping and tunneling are more than okay. Play the game in the way you feel most comfortable, don't mind survivors. Also when someone tunnels you, please understand why you are getting tunneled and don't cry after the game. I have learnt why killers tunnel people when I started to play killers.

There are no “rules” you survive however you can survive and you kill however you want to kill! As long as you don’t hack, abuse/use exploits, no lag switching, don’t bully and or harass others in chat!

Yeah, waiting for the RBT timer to expire takes 30 seconds longer than waiting for someone to get sacrificed on a hook (without add-ons that affect the RBT's timer) which is 2 minutes if you never been hooked. I had two survivors with active RBT timers in the basement so I got myself some Moutain Dew and texted my friends while I waited for 2 survivors to die from the RBT. I eventually stopped blocking the basement because someone basically said basement blocking to prevent us from removing our RBT is bannable.

Blocking someone when they have a reverse bear trap on isn't taking the game hostage because you're doing it with intent to kill.

However if someone else is stuck in there as well and without a reverse bear trap you are still allowed to wait for the bear trap to go off but the second that person with the bear trap dies you have to stop blocking whether that means you go and hit the other person or you just let them go that's your choice as long as you're no longer in body blocking.

It's only taking the game hostage when you block someone in an area for no reason (bm isn't a reason also waiting for them to disconnect isn't a reason)
