Left handed killer

Hello fog creepers,

Up til now, we only have killers, who have their main weapon in their right hand (powers usually left hand). I was thinking it would be neat if there would also be a left-handed. I don't think this would happen (in the near future), but I think it would be kinda interesting.

I also know they would have to spend quite some time in this (if they would want this) to make a different animation (similar to the demogorgon, which walks differently than the trapper).

What do you think? Personally, I don't think this is needed, but it would be neat. After all, nothing this game offers is needed, everything is purely for fun :)

Regards,

It would be cool for the left handed people, but I don't know how many left handed people play DBD. it should be an option instead of an actual killer's viewmodel personally.

Does the actual hitbox of the killer's M1 attack extend out from the center of the killer model? If so, I am going to hazard a guess that it is reasonably possible for them to flip the first-person model from the killer player's perspective, while keeping the survivor view the same.

Since all the killer player sees is the hands, I doubt that the "mirroring" would result in any graphical weirdness.

All the killers are lefty’s in the menu screen at least cause it’s mirrored.

but yeah I’m a lefty and it would be nice if they added an option to switch hands.

Actually, Killers like Hag, Freddy, and Demogorgon are not left handed on that screen.

Hag and Freddy because there is no left handed claw in the movies, and Hags hand can't be made for both sides since it's a genetics thing or whatever.

And Demogorgon just uses his hands to hit people (Mostly his left, but they can't really dictate which is his dominate hand on the main menu)

Haha I’m not trying to bring in movie facts or lore. I’m just saying they are all mirrored on the menu screen. Is it not on Freddys left hand in the menu? In video games it doesn’t really matter. MK9 Freddy had claws on both hands after all.

It's not really about lore, I think its to either keep with the movie like you said or because Hag literally doesn't have the ability to swap her weapon between both hands... since her weapon is literally her hand, claw, thing.

It's the same thing for Demo, it's just his claws. Except both of them are the same unlike Hags where one is gigantic and the other is just her normal hand. With Freddy it's to stay true to the movie, as his claw isn't left handed.

With Spirits sword, Myers Knife, Clowns Knife, Wraiths Axe, Doctors "Punishment Stick", etc... they can clearly swap the weapons between their hands.

It's weird how The Pig also does this, despite her weapon literally being a device strapped to her right arm.

Entity can prevent them all to starve, give them supernatural powers like Auras, have Survivors drop pools of blood infinitely without any repercussions besides pain, etc.

I can imagine Entity sitting at its desk, looking at the blueprint for this "game" it's setting up, going: "Okay, i want them to consistently wield their weapon in their right hand, or i'll get confused later on."

"Also, i'll make them wield it in their left hand at the main menu, cause why tf not."

I genuinely despise that they all hold their weapons in the wrong hand on the menu.

I wouldn't mind a lefty though. Especially if that lefty held their weapon in the right hand on the menu.
