Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Anyone else not like Charms?

The Rift Pass, without many of the common charms that are included (which are mostly boring squares with a perk or leaf on them). I feel like the Rift Pass could use some more non-charm cosmetics. I'd prefer 5 auric cells over charms...

Charms are just a way to provide players with something exclusive that can't be bought in the store later. Players get very upset over exclusive cosmetics, but charms are smaller and it's easier for the devs to make them exclusive with little to no backlash.

The more charms, the more likely a current player is to see one and go, "I must have it!" and thus buy the premium pass. They are the only things on the Rift that can't be gotten through any other means.

Yeah let’s be honest.. the charms are wack. Nobody’s gonna be checking out your little trinkets not to mention they look pretty silly on the hooks.

I dun mind em tbh... *slow shrug* I'll be happy if every Killer gets a Charm version on themselves.

I thought they'd provide little bonuses... But I guess not?

    So... Tbh they're kinda pointless?

As far as cosmetics go, they do their job. They decorate things in the game.

The problem is that the charms themselves are very low on the "oh cool I need that" meter like character cosmetics are.

Exclusive or not, they're kind of lame and won't sell the pass to anyone. If I'm reading people right, they'll be looking at the charms as small extras rather than good cosmetics on their own.

I rather have the exclusive cosmetics just like any other game with a battle bass and not make it available 6 months later

They are indeed pretty lame. I dont plan on paying for the rift pass and I only play killer so thankfully none of survivors in any of my game will be seeing "cute" charms adorning any of my hooks.

And i personally feel like the survivors versions of charms are pretty dum. Its so small and it goes on the survivora belts... When are killers ever going to notice something like that.

(Also play on console and its pretty bad as far as graphics go so even less chance to notice these little knick knacks charm things)

But if thats what rocks some peoples boats. Good for them.

I'll have to watch a video with a survivor wearing them or wait till they are live. Last i remember seeing the were placed on the front side if not the sides of the survivors belts. Which would not be noticeable to a killer until they were maybe hooked.

But you may have a point and it might be more visible than i recall.

If you played the ptb or watched the ptb when a killer picks up a survivor the charms dangle right in the Killer's face. In fact Killer's see the charms better than the survivor's see their own charms due to the pick up animation.

I am not planning to buy in, but I am excited about charms giving away hiding survivors.

Charms don't interest me, and that's probably a good thing.

Put shirtless cosmetics on the paid side however, and we have a different story altogether.

Ah okay, well i guess its not as silly as i thought. But doesnt change my mind about them. For survivors sure, you add your cute charms to your belt. Custimize to your hearts content. I dont think they belong on a killers hook with how cute they seem. It takes away from the little 'horror' the game has.

Charms are just little extra things.... if the battle pass is 1000 auric cells (10$) then it is well worth it for the amount of cosmetics in it. Tho as more charms come out I'm sure they will have some that appeal to everyone.

Thanks for all the replies, guys! Glad to know I'm not alone in the dislike of charms. I'm gonna buy the Rift Pass but solely because I want BHVR to get enough money for better cosmetics. Similar to how Apex's first battle pass was garbage, but the second one was somewhat better. I hope the next one has cosmetics for the DLC characters, though. I was hoping for something unique for my Jane, but I understand they don't wanna make people have to buy the DLC to use somethi- Oh wait, the Lunar New Year Event...!

Especially the more "playful" charms! Like the Claudette Charm! How does that fit in the game at all?!

All I want from the Archives is that Pink Puffy Jacket that Claudette has.

I'm not a big fan of them. I didn't care for them in CoD either.

On Survivors i like Charms enough, but i don't think i'd ever buy a pass for Killer ones.

I'm just not gonna be around Hooks a lot as Killer, my build actually punishes me for staying there.

Feels like campers get the best use out of them.

I mean yeah, Killer cosmetics you don't see much either, but at least i look cool in the lobbies and see my cool weapon all the time.

Got none of that with Killer Charms, i'll see them for up to ~5 seconds when hooking someone, then i gotta split or i'll get genrushed.

So... Charms are like very bad.... and good..

They are bad for survivors as they are really bright and shiny, and great for killers because they are so shiny and easily can spot a survivor from afar... lol

The hook ones tho are pretty neat. Super pointless. But neat?

But in all honesty, I'd sooner prefer hooks that looked and matched the specific killer you play, over just decorating it with charms...

Overall, I don't really care for them at all. Guess I'll say I'm not a fan.
